There are three Accor Plus membership options that you may choose from and they only differ in the Stay Plus benefit (complimentary night's stay where you can redeem at over 1,000 participating Accor hotels and resorts):
Traveller: S$268 (U.P. S$298) - No Stay Plus Benefit
Explorer: S$368 (U.P. S$408) - Stay Plus Benefit (One Night)
Explorer Plus: S$458 (U.P. S$528) - Stay Plus Benefit (Two Nights)
Accor Plus Membership Options
For the sake of clarification, all three membership options have the same benefits when it comes to hotel savings and dining benefits but the Explorer and Explorer Plus options come with one and two free nights (Stay Plus Benefit) respectively. Obviously, the Explorer Plus (S$458) membership option offers the most value as it comes with two free nights each year which you can use at the same property or across different properties.

Two Nights in a Luxury Hotel for S$190 Nett (S$95 Nett per Night)
As mentioned above, there are three different membership options under the Accor Plus programme and the one that offers the most bang for your buck is the Explorer Plus option which comes with two complimentary nights which you can redeem at over 1,000 participating Accor hotels and resorts. The Explorer and Explorer Plus memberships are only S$100 and S$190 more than the Traveller membership respectively. This means that you can essentially purchase one or two nights of hotel stay (at any participating property) for just S$100 and S$190 respectively.
If you are able to redeem your Stay Plus benefit at one of the relatively more expensive properties in Singapore (e.g. Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa or the Fairmont Singapore), the membership essentially pays for itself, and you get the rest of the perks for free. With that said, it is actually quite difficult to find availability for the Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa in this climate but it should improve by 2022 - you can still utilise your Stay Plus benefit at the Fairmont Singapore or one of the other luxury properties once the SDF-arrangements with the government end.
Up to 50% Savings on Hotel Stays (Rates You Won't Find Anywhere Else) with Red Hot Rooms
In my opinion, the best feature of the Accor Plus Membership is the ability to access Red Hot Room rates which unlock up to 50% discount on hotel stays - these rates are exclusive to Accor Plus members only and you will not see them if you are not a member. The Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa is a great property for a staycation and in the example below, the cheapest non-refundable rate that I can find publicly is S$380++ a night on a weekday.
As an Accor Plus member, I can able to access an exclusive Accor Plus Member rate which is priced at S$248++ which is 35% cheaper and offers S$155 in savings from just a single night's stay.
10% Additional Discount on Cheapest Public Rate Available
An Accor Plus Membership will also unlock a further 10% discount on the cheapest public rate available. Unlike some other hotel programs, this is actually real savings that you take advantage of, and it will apply to every publicly available rate that you see. Accor runs a number of flash sales throughout the year and regular Accor Live Limitless (ALL) members can save up to 50% off on these sales. As an Accor Plus Member, you will be able to save up to 60% off during these flash sales and that is incredible.
Up to 50% Savings on Dining + 15% off Drinks (Alcohol Included!)
Accor Plus Members can enjoy up to 50% discount on the total food bill when dining with one other guest - the amount of discount varies with the number of diners but you will get the most discount when dining with one other person. There are quite a few restaurants that I frequent and this 50% discount comes in very handy as it seriously brings the cost of dining down - you will also be able to earn ALL Reward Points on these discounted meals and obviously credit card points (or cashback, if it pleases you) on them too.
During my latest stay at the Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy, I decided to check out Jia Wei Chinese Restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food there. While the menu is slightly truncated, every dish that I ordered was fantastic and the bill only came up to approximately S$50 for two. At the time of writing, even though restaurants at the Raffles Hotel Singapore do not offer 50% savings, Accor Plus Members can currently actually enjoy up to 20% discount when dining at leading restaurants like La Dame de Pic and Osteria BBR until 31 December 2021.
Should You Get the Accor Plus Membership Now?
Honestly, the cost of an Accor Plus Membership pays for itself when you use your Stay Plus benefit - the Explorer Plus option (priced at S$458 instead of the usual S$528) comes with two free nights that you can redeem across luxury brands like Sofitel and the Fairmont. These stay plus nights can be utilised during the course of your membership, so you save them for 2022 if you prefer. Staycation-lovers can also get plenty of value out of the membership as Red Hot Room rates (only accessible by Accor Plus Members) are seriously attractive - at one point, the Sofitel Singapore City Centre was going for S$150++ a night and as I have mentioned above, the Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa is now priced from S$248++ per night for members.
The short answer is if you do plan on staying at one of the Accor properties soon (do note that some hotels are currently designed-SHN facilities and are temporarily not accepting leisure bookings), the Accor Plus Membership is a no brainer. Discounts for the Accor Plus Membership are rarely offered so I would definitely recommend getting the Explorer Plus membership since it is priced only at S$458 for now (instead of the usual S$528 price)
