Some Staycation-Approved Hotels in Singapore Converting Back to Full SHN-Stay Home Notice Dedicated Facility Hotel (SDF)

While staycations in Singapore are still allowed in Phase 2 (Heightened Alert), you might have noticed that some hotels in Singapore (which were previously approved to accept leisure bookings) have started to either cancel existing reservations, or to stop accepting new ones. While some of them are purely business decisions (since dining-out is no longer an option), it has come to my knowledge that a few properties have been designated by the local authorities as a Full SHN-Stay Home Notice Dedicated Facility Hotel (SDF).

Just last week, I noticed that Conrad Centennial Singapore has stopped accepting reservations until early September 2021. Today, I received an email notifying me that the property will be converted into an SDF from 24 May 2021 and therefore, they will not be able to accommodate my stays during the affected period. By doing a quick search for available rooms across top chain properties in Singapore, it appears that the Pan Pacific Singapore, JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach and The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore will also be converted into a Full SHN-Stay Home Notice Dedicated Facility Hotel for the affected period.

There is no fixed date as to when these affected properties will revert back to a staycation/leisure hotel but at the time of writing, bookings can only be made from early September. If you have a few staycations planned in the weeks ahead, it is worth confirming whether your bookings can go ahead so you can make alternative arrangements if required.
