Is the Sofitel Singapore City Centre Going to Become an SHN-Dedicated Facility (SDF) From 26 September 2021?
The Sofitel Singapore City Centre was one of the best staycation properties to use your S$100 SingapoRediscovers Vouchers initially. The rooms are large, the bedding is great, the bathroom is beautiful (with a deep-soaking tub), but most importantly, the property is located in one of Singapore's most exciting districts in Tanjong Pagar. While looking for staycation options this morning, I noticed that the hotel does not seem to have any availability from 26 September 2021.

Now we have seen this before - when a hotel shuts off room inventory completely, there is usually a high chance that it is converted into an SHN-Dedicated Facility (SDF). This means that leisure bookings will not be accepted during the period, but most F&B establishments will continue to operate.
Do note that this is based on pure speculation from my part and at the time of writing, it is unclear whether or not the Sofitel Singapore City Centre will actually be converted into an SHN-Dedicated Facility (SDF) From 26 September 2021.
However, if you have stays planned at the Sofitel Singapore City Centre on or after the 26 September 2021, it may be a good idea to start looking for alternatives (especially if you are celebrating something important). At the same time, if you have not utilised your S$100 SingapoRediscovers Vouchers (SRV), do remember that you will have only until 31 December 2021 to utilise them or lose them.
As we bid farewell to 2025, I take a look back at my hotel stay statistics for the year. With 91 nights at Marriott and 70 at Hyatt, I have solidified my top-tier status where it matters most. However, with Hilton’s introduction of Diamond Reserve, my strategy for 2026 is shifting. Here is a breakdown of my nights, status retention plans, and why I am prioritising World of Hyatt and Marriott Bonvoy in the new year.
