Register Now: Earn 2X Points on IHG Stays from 1 January to 31 March 2026 (From Second Stay)
If you have travel plans for the first quarter of 2026, you will be pleased to know that IHG One Rewards has just opened registration for its first global promotion of the new year. For stays completed between 1 January 2026 and 31 March 2026, members can earn 2X points on eligible stays at participating IHG Hotels & Resorts worldwide. As is often the case with recent IHG promotions, there is a small hurdle to clear: the bonus points will only be awarded from your second stay.

To participate, you must register for the promotion before your stay. The 2X refers to earning double the base points. Typically, members earn 10 base points per USD 1 spent at most IHG brands (exceptions include Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites, which earn 5 base points per USD). With this promotion, you will earn an additional 10 promotional points per USD 1 spent, effectively doubling your base yield. It is important to remember that elite status bonuses are calculated on the base points only and are not doubled by this offer.

While the second stay hurdle is admittedly annoying (especially if your first stay of the year happens to be an expensive one) an uncapped 2X promotion is still a solid offer for those with significant travel planned in Q1. If you have multiple stays planned, it might be strategic to schedule a shorter, cheaper stay as your first hurdle stay to unlock the bonus for subsequent, more expensive bookings. As always, registration is free and takes seconds, so you should register now even if you do not have immediate travel plans.
