T5 In the Making: An Immersive Look at Changi Airport’s Next Chapter (Opens Jan 2026)

If you have been following the development of the Changi East project, you will know that Terminal 5 (T5) is not merely another terminal building; it is effectively a second Changi Airport in the making. While the massive terminal is slated for completion only in the mid-2030s, the public will soon get a rare, tangible glimpse into what the future holds. Registration is now open for T5 In the Making, an immersive exhibition situated at the Changi Airport Terminal 3 Arrival Hall. Running from 6 January to March 2026, this showcase invites visitors to step behind the curtain of one of Singapore’s most ambitious infrastructure projects to date.

Organised jointly by the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), and Changi Airport Group (CAG), the exhibition is free to attend, though pre-registration is highly recommended to secure a slot. The exhibition is curated across five distinct zones, designed to narrate the strategic evolution of Singapore’s air hub from the historic shift from Paya Lebar to Changi, right through to the futuristic capabilities of T5.

For aviation enthusiasts and industry watchers, the From Vision to Reality zone promises to be a highlight. This section brings the architectural vision and immense scale of T5 to life through an immersive experience, offering a perspective on how the new terminal will integrate with the existing airport ecosystem.

Changi Airport has always prided itself on the Changi Experience - that unique blend of efficiency and warmth. T5 aims to continue this legacy while tackling modern challenges such as manpower constraints, an ageing population, and climate change.

Admission to T5 In the Making is complimentary. While walk-ins are accepted subject to availability, priority is given to those who register online. Bookings are available on a first-come-first-served basis, with each registration capping at five guests - perfect for a family outing or a visit with fellow aviation geeks. Construction of T5 officially commenced in May 2025, and upon its completion in the mid-2030s, it will serve as a vibrant social space for the community, beyond just being a transit hub.
