World of Hyatt Award Chart Changes on 25 March 2025: Key Updates on Asia & Pacific
The annual World of Hyatt Award Category changes will take effect on 25 March 2025, adjusting the number of points required for a free night at select hotels. While no new Categories have been added, and the point requirements per Category remain the same, some hotels will move up, requiring more points, while others will move down, requiring fewer points. To maximise the value of your points, consider booking before 25 March 2025, as reservations made prior to this date will follow the current award chart. Any reservations made or modified on or after 25 March 2025 will be subject to the new award chart.

Conversely, 25 properties in the Asia & Pacific region will be moving up a category, increasing the number of points required for a free night. The changes from Category 4 to 5 and 7 to 8 are particularly inconvenient, as these properties will no longer be eligible for redemption with the respective free night awards. Hyatt hotels in Japan tend to have high cash rates, making points redemptions a valuable option. However, with these changes, award nights at these properties will require more points, reducing their overall value.
