Amex Pay to Be Discontinued in Singapore from 31 July 2025
American Express has officially announced that it will discontinue its proprietary mobile payment platform, Amex Pay, in Singapore from 31 July 2025. This means that after this date, you will no longer be able to make payments via Amex Pay, whether using QR or NFC. If you have previously added your American Express Card to Amex Pay, you may continue to use it for payments at participating merchants until 30 July 2025.
From 31 July 2025, your Card details will be removed from Amex Pay, and you will not be able to make any payments using the platform. American Express has assured Card Members that no action is required on their part and that past transactions and earned rewards will remain unaffected.
Until then, you can continue to use Amex Pay to earn miles and points on QR Payments across participating hawker centres and food courts that display the American Express QR signage. Locations include Market Street Hawker Centre, Maxwell Food Centre, and Chomp Chomp Food Centre, though these may change as signage is gradually removed.
