Plaza Premium Lounge Opens at Langkawi International Airport (Buy-One-Get-One Companion Access Until 7 June 2026)
Plaza Premium Group has announced the opening of its relocated lounge at Langkawi International Airport (LGK), moving to a new and expanded landside location within the same terminal. For Singapore travellers who make the short hop to Langkawi regularly, this is worth knowing about. The lounge has not been built from scratch; it is a relocation from its previous site within Langkawi International Airport to a larger space.
The new location accommodates 63 seats, features a private dining area, and is accessible to both arriving and departing passengers given its landside positioning. It is also the only airport lounge operating at Langkawi International Airport, which means it holds that position by default. For travellers transiting through or departing from LGK, there is simply no alternative if you want a proper place to sit, eat, and recharge before your flight.
Walk-in access is priced at RM118 for a one-hour stay. At the current exchange rate, that works out to approximately S$36, which is not unreasonable for a lounge with food and beverages included, particularly given the scarcity of alternatives at Langkawi airport. Plaza Premium lounges are generally accessible via Priority Pass and DragonPass, and many Singapore-issued credit cards provide complimentary lounge access through these programmes. If you hold a card that bundles Priority Pass or DragonPass access, it is worth verifying whether this Langkawi location is included before paying the walk-in rate. Leaving points and savings on the table at a pay-per-use lounge is an easy mistake to make.
Opening Offer: Buy One, Get One Companion Access
In conjunction with the opening, Plaza Premium is running a buy-one-get-one promotion where a paying guest receives a complimentary companion access. This offer is live now and runs until 7 June 2026. If you are travelling as a pair and neither of you has lounge access through a credit card or membership programme, this effectively halves the cost to around S$18 per person. For that price point, it is a reasonable pre-flight option at an airport that does not offer many alternatives.
Plaza Premium has used the Langkawi opening to extend its global Proudly Local campaign, which the group has rolled out across 21 cities. The concept involves incorporating local culture, food, and art into each lounge. At Langkawi, this translates into a signature dish (Spicy Chicken Langkawi Luxe with Trio Sambal, drawing on the island's culinary heritage) and a collaboration with The People Art Gallery (TAPG) to bring locally curated artworks into the lounge space.
Whether this meaningfully elevates the experience above a standard Plaza Premium offering is something only a visit will confirm. On paper, the intention to localise the lounge in a way that reflects Langkawi's identity rather than defaulting to a generic airport lounge aesthetic is a welcome one.
The relocated Plaza Premium Lounge at Langkawi is a straightforward upgrade story: more space, same operator, and a buy-one-get-one offer that makes sense for couples or travel companions who are not already covered by a lounge membership programme. For most Singapore travellers flying to Langkawi on budget carriers without lounge access, the opening offer is the clearest reason to visit before 7 June 2026.
