Hotel Review: Pan Pacific Singapore (Harbour Studio) - 2016 Revisit

I spent my Christmas Eve back in 2015 in the Pan Pacific Singapore's Pacific Harbour Studio which is easily one of the nicest rooms I have stayed in Singapore. In 2016, I decided that it would be a great idea to revisit the Pan Pacific Singapore's Harbour Studio (one that I used to stay quite a bit back in 2015) on Christmas Day since I had a long weekend away from work. Being a DISCOVERY Loyalty Black Member has its perks - your check-in documents are usually prepared beforehand and therefore you can generally bypass the snaking queues and get to your room (or suite!) a lot faster.

Hotel Review: The Langham, Auckland (Superior Room)

I visited the City of Sails back in November 2016 for work and as much as I wanted to stay in the Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour (check out my review HERE!), the hotel was running high on occupancy and the room rates were way above the rates that I paid back in 2015. Since the meetings were primarily going to happen in The Langham, Auckland, I decided to stay in the property itself since it meant being able to sleep-in and get to the meetings on time. Check out my stay in a Superior Room at The Langham, Auckland.

Hotel Review: Hilton Tokyo (King Executive Room) - Shinjuku, Tokyo

On my last trip to Tokyo, I checked out the 777-300ER Business Class product on Singapore Airlines when I flew from Singapore to Haneda. Since it was a pretty early flight, I decided to spend the night before at what is perhaps the best transit hotel in Singapore in Terminal One - the Aerotel Singapore. Since Tokyo is notorious for her average room rates (especially when you stay in an internationally-branded hotel chain), I decided to redeem some of my Hilton HHonors Points at the Hilton Tokyo - the rooms are generally 50,000 Hilton HHonors Points a night but you do get the fifth night free so my five-night stay at this centrally-located hotel in Shinjuku costed me only 200,000 Hilton HHonors Points (as opposed to an average room rate of S$650 a night during the month that I visit).

Hotel Review: Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa, Cebu (Ocean Wing Panorama Room)

Philippines is home to some of the most beautiful landscapes and beaches in the world. While Boracay and Palawan often come to minds of people who dream of perfect beach vacations, Cebu should be right there too - alongside delicious Cebuano cuisine like the lip-smacking lechon. During my visit to Cebu a number of months back, I stayed in a Ocean Wing Panorama Room at the Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa, Cebu. Check out what makes this the best hotel in Cebu, Philippines!

Hotel Review: Crowne Plaza Changi Airport (Business Room)

The Crowne Plaza Changi Airport added 243 new Business Rooms in a 10-storey extension in a new wing earlier this year. The newly-opened Jewel Wing is home to the brand new Business Rooms which are all put together using Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction (PPVC) techniques (the very first private-sector commercial project in Singapore) and has been designed by the award-winning Singapore-based architectural firm, WOHA. Check out my review of the new Business Rooms here at the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport.

Hotel Review: Mandarin Orchard (Premier Room) - Located Along Orchard Road, Singapore

Orchard Road is one of Singapore's most prominent streets and over the years, it has established itself as one of the world's most renowned shopping streets. Apart from shopping and dining, one of the things that locals and international visitors look out for is the annual Christmas light up along the famous shopping belt. This year, the light-up spans over 2.88km from Tanglin all the way to Dhoby Ghaut and visitors will be able to enjoy the lights until 02 January 2017. If you are looking for a weekend staycation spot this December, the Mandarin Orchard is located in the middle of it all - it is close enough to soak in all the Christmas festivities and yet quiet enough for some alone time with the people you love the most.

Hotel Review: Sule Shangri-La, Yangon (Horizon Club Room)

While Myanmar is slowly opening up to more tourists and foreign investments, it is still in its infancy stage of mass tourism so if you are interested to see the city before it evolves into that, it is best to go there by the end of 2017. Located along Sule Pagoda Road lies one of the most luxurious hotels in the city of Yangon - the Sule Shangri-La, Yangon. Following an extensive refurbishment and training for the staff of the property, the Sule Shangri-La, Yangon was rebranded from a Traders Hotel in 2014. I opted for the hotel limousine to take me from the Yangon International Airport to the hotel and similar to an earlier stay at the Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, Penang, the limousine came equipped with high-speed WiFi so you can remain connected on the ride to the hotel.
