The Park Hyatt Hangzhou is one of the most beautiful and modern properties that I have ever stayed-in in China but the soft product is just not perfect.

The newly-renovated Coleman Suite at the Grand Park City Hall may just be the most understated suite in Singapore. Spoiler alert: it comes with a private steam room and outdoor Jacuzzi.

When I visited Shanghai from Singapore last year, I flew on Singapore Airlines' Business Class product and was pleasantly surprised by the crew on that flight. I spent a couple of nights in the Andaz Xintiandi, Shanghai before finally moving to the famous and incredibly opulent Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund for my final night in Shanghai. As a DISCOVERY Loyalty Black Member, I was upgraded into a Pool Villa at the Alila Ubud which comes with expansive views of the valley beneath it. The food is excellent but the property certainly shows sign of age. Read my review to find out more!

It is definitely worth noting that the Andaz Xintiandi, Shanghai is the first Andaz-branded property to open in Asia and it located in an iconic entertainment area of downtown Shanghai. Even though the official check-in time at the property is 3:00PM, I did not face any trouble getting a room assigned to me at approximately 2:00PM. In fact, the hotel actually accorded me with an upgrade into a King Bed Deluxe (much like a Junior Suite and you will see why later) since I was celebrating my birthday there.

The InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay is quite possibly the most beautiful IHG property in Singapore. Opened in late 2017, this property is located in a quieter area of Singapore (which is quite popular amongst expats) and the rooms (albeit small) are luxuriously-furnished. When I stayed in a Club Riverview Studio King room last year, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I think it is safe to say that this property has the best Club InterContinental Lounge (with a proper cocktail menu) in the country.
