Hotel Review: Conrad Hong Kong (Executive Harbour View Room)

Hong Kong is one of the most densely-populated cities in the world and land space is becoming increasingly scarce. Therefore, it is not unusual to see a relatively higher room rate across all luxury hotels (and there is no lack of such properties here in Hong Kong). I stayed at the Conrad Hong Kong (which is located on Hong Kong island) after spending a night in Shenzhen - this is also the side where the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong is located. Check out my stay in an Executive Harbour View Room!

Hotel Review: The St. Regis Shenzhen (Deluxe Room) - Highest Hotel in Shenzhen

When I visited Hong Kong last month, I checked out the brand new Kerry Hotel, Hong Kong which is located in Hung Hom. After staying at the world's highest hotel, The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong last year, I was eager to check out the highest hotel in Shenzhen, The St. Regis Shenzhen which is located on the top floors of the KK100 (京基100). The hotel is possibly the city's most luxurious (and expensive) property and so I took the opportunity to travel down to Shenzhen from Hong Kong via the MTR.

A Microbrewery in the Heart of Beijing Guomao’s CBD - Beersmith Gastropub (Hotel Jen Beijing)

When I visited Beijing last month in the summer, I stayed at the newly-built Hotel Jen Beijing which is a 5-star property located in the heart of Beijing's Guomao Central Business District (CBD). If you are thinking about getting from Singapore to Beijing, I highly recommend the SQ802 flight (check out my experience in Business Class HERE!) which will get you there by 2:40PM. One of the things that truly impressed me during my stay was the existence of a microbrewery within the hotel - these beers are then served in the Beersmith Gastropub ((鲜啤吧) which is connected to the main lobby of the Hotel Jen Beijing.

Hotel Review: Hotel Jen Beijing (Jen Skyline) - 5-Star Property in Beijing’s Guomao Central Business District

I visited Beijing in China for the first time last month where I flew down from SIN to PEK on Singapore Airlines in Business Class (check out my trip report on SQ802 HERE!). As one of the first passengers to disembark from the plane, I was able to clear immigration fairly quickly and got out of the airport in approximately 30 to 45 minutes. I then met with a representative from Hotel Jen Beijing (which has only quite recently opened) in the public area of the Beijing Capital International Airport before hopping onto a vehicle that took me directly to this newly-built property that is directly connected to the China World Complex.

A Quick Guide to Getting 4G and Around the Great Firewall of China - 2017 Edition

Everyone must have heard of the extensive internet regulation and censorship in China and first-time travellers to this country do not always know what to do in order to get around the notorious Great Firewall of China. As I will be traveling to Beijing pretty soon, I have put together a short guide on getting around this regulation and also a number of things to take note of when you travel to China. The first thing any tech-savvy traveller would ask is about the availability of 4G SIM Cards in China. While it is definitely possible to pick one up at the airport (information seems to be rather limited on the internet) or in the city, it may save you a little hassle by settling this in Singapore before you go. Here are three alternatives to buying a SIM Card in China!
