One of the many perks with traveling on Business Class is the airport lounge access that you get before your flight - some of these are impressive like The Private Room in Changi Airport (when you fly First Class or Suites with Singapore Airlines) or the Cathay Pacific Lounge in Haneda Airport. On the other hand, some airport lounges are disappointing and lacklustre - the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is one such example.

Lounge Review: The Emirates Lounge - Singapore Changi Airport (SIN)

The Emirates Lounge in Terminal 1 of Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) undergone refurbishment last year for five months and the new First and Business Class lounge was unveiled in 2017. The last time that I visited this lounge was back in 2014 when I still held Qantas Frequent Flyer Gold status and the lounge was looking a lot more dated then. Since I was traveling to Dubai from Singapore in Business Class, I had access to The Emirates Lounge - this is also accessible to passengers traveling in First Class as well as Skywards Platinum and Gold members travelling in Economy Class.

As I was traveling from Haneda Airport (HND) to Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) in Japan Airlines' Business Class, I had access to the Sakura Lounge that is operated by JAL. However, since I missed out on the opportunity to check out the new Cathay Pacific lounge in Singapore Changi Airport's Terminal 4 which has just only opened last year, I decided to forgo the Sakura Lounge and check out the Cathay Pacific Lounge at Haneda Airport (HND) instead.

When I visited Beijing back in July this year, I flew back from Beijing to Singapore on Air China's Business Class - it was my very first experience with Air China and even though it was quite a good flight (albeit being delayed for 3 hours), it was very different from what you would expect on a Singapore Airlines flight. Lounge Review: The Coral First Class Lounge (Phuket International Airport)

When I flew back from Phuket to Singapore on SilkAir, I noticed that the terminal building was different from the one that I was in back in 2015 when I visited the Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort. Apparently, this relatively new terminal building at the Phuket International Airport was only completed back in 2016 - capacity is estimated to be at five million passengers per year. While looking for access to The Coral First Class Lounge, I realised that the The Coral Executive Lounge also provided a First Class VIP Departure Fast Track Service that I took the opportunity to check out during my visit.

The SilverKris Lounge in Changi Airport is reserved for Star Alliance passengers travelling on Business and First Class (there are separate lounges within the lounge itself) as well as esteemed Solitaire PPS Club members. If you are a KrisFlyer Gold Elite (or Star Alliance Gold) member traveling in Economy or Premium Economy class, you will have to make your way down to the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge (which does not stock Champagne) instead. Japan Airlines to Unveil Bangkok Sakura Lounge in Suvarnabhumi International Airport (Bangkok) - 01 March 2017

Japan Airlines (JAL) has just announced the opening of a newly-renovated lounge in Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport. The Bangkok Sakura Lounge is slated to open on 01 March 2017 and it will feature a brand new layout with more shower suites. The lounge which also be accessible to oneworld alliance elite members and eligible premium cabin passengers will join the Cathay Pacific's designer lounge which was opened in June 2015.
