Supercharge your miles earning rate with Kaligo as you stay your way to a free First Class flight (check out the cheapest First Class flights out of Singapore on miles HERE!) - earn up to 10 miles per dollar on every hotel reservation you make on Kaligo (so long you use an eligible credit card issued by UOB, DBS or Citibank). While it is possible to earn up to 10 miles per dollar on equivalent currency across all three banks, the best one to go for is actually Citibank since it not only issues you the bonus miles and points based on per dollar spent, you will also get to convert these points to 12 different airline loyalty programs (as compared to just two on UOB and DBS).
Most credit cards offered by banks in Singapore allow you to convert your precious miles and points into Asia Miles and KrisFlyer only. While it is possible to redeem flights on various other alliance and codeshare partners, it is considerably cheaper to redeem miles on specific airline loyalty program sometimes - always a good idea to check an online tool like AwardHacker. Therefore, it is almost always better to earn your bonus miles from Kaligo on Citibank - I personally recommend the Citi PremierMiles American Express Card as it offers one of the best value annual fees for purchasing miles in Singapore.
Citibank allows you to convert your miles and points into the following airline loyalty program (kindly note that a S$25 fee applies for each conversion):
- Asia Miles
- British Airways Executive Club
- Delta Skymiles
- Etihad Guest
- EVA Air Infinity Mileagelands
- Flying Blue
- Garuda Indonesia Frequent Flyer
- Malaysia Airlines Enrich
- Qantas Frequent Flyer
- Qatar Airways Privilege Club
- Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
- Thai Airways Royal Orchard Plus

The Citi Rewards Card is one of the best credit cards in Singapore to hold in my opinion - it offers 4 miles per dollar on shopping expenses (this includes spend in departmental stores as well) and from time to time it partners up with a merchant to offer 20X Rewards which is equivalent to a whooping 8 miles per S$1. From now until the end of 31 December 2017, cardholders will be able to earn 8 miles per dollar on all eligible transactions made on Lazada or via the Amazon Prime Now App.
The InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is currently running Your World Sale to offer up to 30% off all eligible stays between 18 November 2017 and 15 April 2018 for all IHG Rewards Club members (free to sign-up!). IHG Rewards Club members will also earn Bonus Points on stays booked with Your World Sale.
There is currently a 35% sale that Hilton is running across all participating properties that you can check out here. The sale is running until 8:00AM GMT (essentially 4:00PM in Singapore) on 13 November 2017 so there's still time to take advantage of this offer. All stays have to be completed by 31 December 2018.
The Westin Singapore officially opened on 12 November 2013 and to celebrate her fourth anniversary, the property is offering a three-day flash sale (from Sunday) for weekend stays between 15 December 2017 and 28 February 2018 (black-out dates apply). The room rates begin from just S$270++ for a Deluxe Room and it comes with complimentary breakfast for two as well as internet access.
Sign-up for the KrisFlyer Spree eNewsletter by 20 November 2017 to be eligible for a 20% bonus on all transactions made via KrisFlyer Spree from 24 November 2017 to 30 November 2017. All KrisFlyer miles earned on tracked purchases will be calculated based on the bonus KrisFlyer mile earn rate.
Back in July, I wrote about the opportunity to purchase 31,200 Citi Miles for S$238 - this is something that you do not see very often at all in Singapore. It is common to get bonus miles when you sign-up (or renew) and pay the annual fee of an eligible credit card in Singapore. However, being able to purchase miles at $0.0076 each is unheard of!
Uber has been my preferred method of transport and being able to earn 1 Starpoint per USD (albeit little) has been a nice bonus throughout the last couple of years. I have received an email today notifying me that the Uber and SPG partnership will end after 17 December 2017 and members will no longer be able to earn Starpoints from rides.
Running low on IHG Rewards Club Points? Make sure you sign-up for the Accelerate Q4 2017 challenge to earn extra IHG Rewards Club Points when you complete specific challenges that are tailored based on your stay and spend history (my account was targeted for 42,500 bonus points)! Purchase IHG Rewards Club Points between now and 03 November 2017 to get 100% bonus points (minimum purchase of 5,000 points at US$67.50 required).
The DISCOVERY Loyalty program offers some of the most rewarding benefits and it is amongst my favourite loyalty programs - it offers up to 6:00PM late check-out (which is perfect for late night flights and staycation in Singapore) as well as a generous double upgrade where available when you hit the top tier Black level (30 elite qualifying nights each year). Register for the promotion to earn double tier night credits on all eligible hotel stays from 18 October 2017 to 31 December 2017.
