New Entrants and Exits to American Express Chillax Program in 2021 - Free Drinks at Participating Bars for Platinum Members

Since the start of 2021, we have seen a number of changes for American Express Platinum Members - longstanding partners of the Love Dining program have exited the system and there are rumours of even more changes to come in the weeks ahead. Today, it appears that the Chillax program (where Platinum Members can benefit from a complimentary drink at participating bars in Singapore) has undergone some changes with three partner exits and three new entrants for the year ahead.

Changes to the Chillax program are expected each year - there were seven exits and three new entrants at the start of 2020. With the start of 2021, the following three bars have exited the Chillax program and Platinum Members will no longer enjoy a complimentary drink at these locations:

• The Secret Mermaid

• The Bar at 15 Stamford (located in The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore)

• Bar on 5 (located in Mandarin Orchard Singapore)

Out of the three bars that have exited the program, two of them were newly-added back in 2020 so my personal opinion is that they must not have benefited much from the program. The Secret Mermaid has been a Chillax partner for a number of years already (I remember going at least three years ago when I used to hold just The American Express Platinum Credit Card) so it certainly is surprising that it has decided not to be part of the program anymore.

With the removal of the aforementioned bars, American Express Platinum Members will be able to enjoy their Chillax benefits at three new bars - all located within properties in the Pan Pacific Hotels Group:

• Club 5 @ PARKROYAL on Beach Road Singapore - 1-for-1 first drink (cocktails only)

• Atrium @ Pan Pacific Singapore - complimentary glass of house pour wine with min. spend of S$30

• Atrium Lounge @ PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, Singapore - 1-for-1 first drink; or complimentary set of whisky flight with min. spend of S$40

As usual, Chillax benefits are not applicable on the eve of and on Public Holidays as well as any other blackout dates and special occasions determined by the partners.
