The Lunar New Year is coming right up and keeping in mind that there are plenty of snacks and food to indulge in this season, Gryphon Tea Company has introduced a luxurious way to drink to prosperity in the new year ahead with the Golden Nugget Flowering Tea (S$6.80+ each). Available exclusively on the Gryphon Tea Company website only, the Golden Nugget Flowering Tea will be sure to impress your guest with shimmery gold dust and a grand blooming in your teapot - you have to see it to believe it (check out the video below!).
Each one of these Golden Nuggets are presented in the shape of a prosperity sycee (otherwise known as an ingot) which was once a form of major currency in China. The nugget opens up to an impressive green tea which boats notes of mandarin and jasmine which pairs excellently with festive treats like bak kwa, pineapple tarts and melon seeds.
The limited edition Golden Nugget Flowering Tea can be purchased from the following website: http://www.gryphontea.com/golden-nugget.html. For any enquiries, kindly contact the Gryphon Tea office at (65) 6779 2948.
I fell in love with the brand new Summer Pavilion at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore when I visited it last December during the official launch. Firstly, the place is beautiful - everything from the decor, the private dining rooms and even those exquisite plates which all of us wanted to take home. Secondly, the food is amazing - presented beautifully while being executed perfectly. Therefore, when I got an invitation to check out the Lunar New Year menu at Summer Pavilion, I was really excited!
Whether you enjoy spending time with your family (extended family included) this Lunar New Year long weekend or not, head down to Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore and watch the Hong Kong-based Parent's Parents in action. The quirky band of creators will be dedicating two works of art to the hotel - one by the Swimming Pool and one by J65 (Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore's new all-day dining venue!). In fact, what better way to appreciate art than in the comfort on your very own room - conveniently, the hotel is also running some really attractive Chinese New Year room packages!
The Park Hotel Clarke Quay is located just minutes away from some of the best bars and restaurants in the area. When I checked out the dinner buffet at Brizo previously, I did not see a Chinese restaurant on property so when I actually saw an invite to try out their Chinese New Year menu, I was intrigued. Just to clarify, there is no Chinese restaurant at the Park Hotel Clarke Quay (well, not now anyway) and the dishes created by Banquet Chef James Wong will be served at the hotel's function rooms. Honestly, the food that was prepared by Chef James surprised me thoroughly. Considering how the hotel does not have an actual Chinese restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food that was served - I dare say it is better than some established Chinese restaurants out there!
This Lunar New Year (2016), Summer Palace at the Regent Singapore (also my favourite pet hotel in Singapore!) is presenting an Imperial Reunion Dinner for one night only. The night of feasting will feature a lavish spread of Chinese New Year delicacies at the Regent Singapore's Royal Pavilion Ballroom as an imperial palace feast experience will be recreated. Here's what to expect from the Imperial Reunion Dinner at Regent Singapore which is happening on 07 February 2016 (Sunday) from 630PM.
Dorsett Singapore is conveniently located in the heritage precinct of Chinatown and it offers a mix of guestrooms and lofts for business as well as leisure travellers. I have personally stayed in a Loft Room and a Splash Room on multiple occasions and I prefer the the former option more. This Chinese New Year (2016), Dorsett Singapore is offering a Triple Abundance Offer which gives you up to S$80 off the Best Available Room Rate on a daily basis - read on to find out how you can stay from just S$115++ a night!

Wan Hao sits in the famous Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel and has established itself as a prominent restaurant in the Cantonese culinary scene. This Lunar New Year, the new Executive Chef Brian Wong Shiuh Yean who has been trained in the art of Chinese cooking and with 15 years of culinary experience under his belt, has brought together a medley of perennial favourites and new creations.
If I had to pick the most entertaining Lunar New Year promotion this year, this has to be it - the Huat Rock Burger (S$25++) from Hard Rock Cafe Sentosa is carefully created to usher in the year of the Monkey. Look beneath the cheesy name and you will find an original creation that offers a beef burger alongside a 'Lo Hei' inspired salad with tangy plum sauce and golden pillow crackers.
With Chinese New Year set menus going over S$4,000++ a table in Singapore, maybe it's not a bad idea to consider the DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru instead. Opt for the more casual Prosperity Buffet Dinner (RM128 Nett per adult) or the more indulgent Prosperity Set Dinner (RM 1,588 Nett per table of 10 guests) complete with a private dining area.
From now until 25 January 2016, make a reservation to stay at the newly redesigned and refurbished Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore between 25 January and 14 February 2016 to enjoy attractive room rates from just S$188++ a night. If you have not seen images of the new rooms, you should definitely check out my previous review of the Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore's club rooms.
