I fell in love with the brand new Summer Pavilion at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore when I visited it last December during the official launch. Firstly, the place is beautiful - everything from the decor, the private dining rooms and even those exquisite plates which all of us wanted to take home. Whether you enjoy spending time with your family (extended family included) this Lunar New Year long weekend or not, head down to Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore and watch the Hong Kong-based Parent's Parents in action. The Park Hotel Clarke Quay is located just minutes away from some of the best bars and restaurants in the area. When I checked out the dinner buffet at Brizo previously, I did not see a Chinese restaurant on property so when I actually saw an invite to try out their Chinese New Year menu, I was intrigued. Just to clarify, there is no Chinese restaurant at the Park Hotel Clarke Quay (well, not now anyway) and the dishes created by Banquet Chef James Wong will be served at the hotel's function rooms. Honestly, the food that was prepared by Chef James surprised me thoroughly. Considering how the hotel does not have an actual Chinese restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food that was served - I dare say it is better than some established Chinese restaurants out there!

If I had to pick the most entertaining Lunar New Year promotion this year, this has to be it - the Huat Rock Burger (S$25++) from Hard Rock Cafe Sentosa is carefully created to usher in the year of the Monkey. Look beneath the cheesy name and you will find an original creation that offers a beef burger alongside a 'Lo Hei' inspired salad with tangy plum sauce and golden pillow crackers.

With Chinese New Year set menus going over S$4,000++ a table in Singapore, maybe it's not a bad idea to consider the DoubleTree by Hilton Johor Bahru instead.
