The Great Thai Feast (Dinner Buffet) at Seasonal Tastes - The Westin Singapore
For a very limited time only, enjoy The Great Thai Feast at Seasonal Tastes while looking out to spectacular views from The Westin Singapore! This dinner-only buffet will run until 31 July 2016 so be sure to get in quick to enjoy this Thai-themed buffet. These authentic Thai dishes are presented by Seasonal Tastes’ Sous Chef Sedtapat Sukpaisanpongsa, alongside Chef Kamonwan Juntarasert and Chef Sittha Sa-Nguansat which brings the ubiquitous street food of Thailand (and perennial favorites from lesser known regions) to Singapore.
Seasonal Tastes’ Sous Chef Sedtapat Sukpaisanpongsa has 13 years of culinary experience across various established hotels in Thailand and Canada (including the InterContinental Bangkok and Bua Thai Restaurant at Edmonton, Alberta Canada) as he draws influence from his grandmother’s repertoire of recipes. Enjoy dishes like the Pad Thai (cooked to order), Tom Yam Goong and even green (and red!) curry oysters,
If you have been to Bangkok (and of course you would have!), you will definitely recognise the Kor Moo Yang (Grilled Pork Neck) that is grilled to perfection and served with an authentic Jim Jaew dipping sauce,
Other notable Thai dishes to watch out for include a ‘live’ Som Tam (Papaya Salad) station, where grilled chili and garlic are first pounded with a motar and pestle and added to fish sauce, dried shrimps, tamarind juice, lime juice and peanuts tossed with julienned green papaya. Do not miss out on the wide selection of dips as well!
If you enjoy noodles, you must try the Kuay Teow Nuaa (Beef Noodles) where rice noodles, tender beef slices, beef brisket, tendon and tripe are served with with a comforting broth (although not as flavourful as I had thought initially). There is also a red or green curry noodle with a choice of seafood or chicken slices.
For dessert, wash down all the spicy and intense flavours with an authentic Cha Yen (Thai Milk Tea) and enjoy a selection of Thai desserts like the Khao Niew Ma Muang (Mango Sticky Rice), with glutinous rice doused with coconut cream syrup and fresh mango slices or Sang Kaya Faktong (Thai Pumpkin Custard) – coconut milk egg custard served atop a slice of sweet cooked pumpkin.
