Major Devaluation to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - No More Intra-Asia Stopover and 2.4X Increase in Miles Required Between Singapore and China on SQ
Approximately one week ago, Singapore Airlines made it possible for Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members to redeem their miles on Singapore Airlines metal - this opened up plenty of creative routing and amazing (yet legit) opportunities for members to get on the award-winning premium cabins for less. For example, a flight between Singapore and Beijing required only 25,000 and 35,000 AS miles on Business Class and Suites respectively. The Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan programme was one of the best in the market since it not only allows you to save on the number of required miles (in most instances) but also add a complimentary stopover even within intra-Asia award redemption tickets.
Consistent to what most of us believe, the 25,000 miles pricing for a one-way Business Class award flight between Singapore and China on Singapore Airlines was a mistake and this has now been rectified - it will now cost you 60,000 Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles (2.4x more!) to fly between these two countries in Business Class! If you were planning to travel on First Class or Suites, you will now be required to fork out 75,000 Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan miles.
Additionally, it appears that stopovers are no longer allowed in intra-Asia redemptions with Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - if true, this is a major devaluation In the frequent flyer program (since you can no longer do the Japan Airlines Business Class trick for a “return” flight). I am currently away from a working laptop but I cannot seem to find any availability with a multi-city booking on Japan Airline but I will confirm on this ASAP and update this article accordingly.
Planning a beach day can seem simple, but unexpected issues often arise. Mornington Peninsula’s beaches are popular, which means dealing with potential crowds, fluctuating weather, and poor preparation can easily ruin your outing. Arriving late might lead to parking challenges, and picking the wrong beach can limit your planned activities. Many forget important items that could make or break their beach experience, leading to stress and missed opportunities for relaxation.
