Thank You for Your Loyalty as a Platinum Elite Member, Here's 300 Marriott Bonvoy Points
I have had wonderful experiences at various Marriott International properties in recent months and while I do appreciate the perks that come with my Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite status, I am getting rather 'bonvoyed' with the way members are targeted for special offers. I am only one night away from retaining Platinum Elite status for year ahead so I will definitely do a mattress run sometime over the next couple of weeks but I was surprised to find an email this morning thanking me for my loyalty. The reward for spending 50 nights within the Marriott International chain in year? 300 Marriott Bonvoy points.

Obviously it goes without saying that 300 bonus points is better than nothing but I have been rather curious at the way special offers are targeted for elite members. As noted by some of the comments on my previous rant about the Unlock More global promotion, it appears that members who have been status-matched from the legacy Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) program, are allegedly 'shortchanged' when it comes to targeted offers. Now, I will be hitting my 50th night with the Marriott Bonvoy program soon and I will definitely be looking out for more targeted offers (I did not even get a single one this year) in the upcoming year. If you do not have any elite status with the Marriott Bonvoy program, simply holding The Platinum Card from American Express will give you instant Gold Elite status with the loyalty program (for as long as you hold it).
