Singapore Airlines to Take Over SilkAir's Services to Busan from 28 October 2019
SilkAir (the regional wing of Singapore Airlines) will be transferring its services to Busan in South Korea to Singapore Airlines from 28 October 2019. The transfer will enable Singapore Airlines to increase seat capacity on the route by 76% to meet the growing travel demand.
Subject to regulatory approvals, Singapore Airlines will maintain SilkAir's current flight frequency to Busan (four times a week) but it will be served with the A330-300 aircraft (30 Business Class and 255 Economy Class seats) instead of SilkAir's current Boeing 737-800. This equipment swap will be able to accomodate up to 123 more passengers per flight. In addition to Busan, Singapore Airlines and low-cost subsidiary Scoot operate a total of 31 weekly flights to Seoul in South Korea.
