The Most Luxurious Islands In Thailand
Thailand is an unusual place, for several reasons. You can be at a Buddhist temple in the morning, at a romantic lunch in your private resort in the afternoon, and in the middle of a massive party that same night. On just one island you can find a bit of everything.
If you’re looking for luxury, in particular, it’s not hard to find. You can get gorgeous villas just about everywhere. But the following islands are highly recommended.
Phuket
Phuket is an island that just about everyone goes to. It is a hodgepodge of markets, parties, and much more. However, you can also enjoy pure luxury there – just check out these villas. And there are good reasons to do so, even if you have no interest in partying.
The main attraction is that it is very easy to get to. You can fly there directly and don’t have to worry about the inevitable delays on inter-island flights and ferries. If you’ve been flying for a long time, you’ll be thankful your journey ends there.
Furthermore, you can take day-trips to some of the nearby islands, or even spend a night or two there. In other words, you can use Phuket as the hub of your Thailand trip, enjoying its luxury while island hopping.
Alternatively, you can go to one of the following.
Koh Samui
Koh Samui is another massive island, and it too is popular amongst all kinds of tourists. However, it is quieter than Phuket, which is a big advantage for those who hate crowds. You’ll find palm-fringed beaches, where you can spend all day and never get tired of the clear waters. But you will also get to visit mountainous rainforests if you want a bit of an adventure.
There is no lack of luxury on Koh Samui. You can get hold of anything you need to be comfortable, and as with everywhere in Thailand, massages and spas are easily accessible. However, the one downside is that you will have to take an extra flight to get to the island.
Koh Lipe
If you’re willing to venture a bit further out, Koh Lipe is the secluded paradise you’ve always dreamed of. While not overrun by tourists, it is still host to gorgeous villas and resorts, and all you need for a luxury getaway. You’ll find the clearest coral-rich waters in Thailand, which is really saying something! It is perfect for snorkeling and diving, and you can enjoy the sight of tropical sea-life even if you can’t swim. With a lifejacket on, you’ll float on the surface of the water. Simply stick your head under and you’ll see a whole new world.
Koh Lipe is ideal for a romantic trip during which you just want to spend time with your partner in the lap of luxury. However, it is the most difficult island on this list to get to. You will need to take an extra flight, a shuttle bus, and a ferry.
Planning a beach day can seem simple, but unexpected issues often arise. Mornington Peninsula’s beaches are popular, which means dealing with potential crowds, fluctuating weather, and poor preparation can easily ruin your outing. Arriving late might lead to parking challenges, and picking the wrong beach can limit your planned activities. Many forget important items that could make or break their beach experience, leading to stress and missed opportunities for relaxation.
