Starting from just S$299+ a night, the hotel stay voucher will come with breakfast and 3-course set dinner (once per stay) for two, 25% savings on eligible F&B spend, as well as a guaranteed 6:00 PM late checkout timing so there is more time to enjoy the facilities.

There will be two different rates for each room or suite type - one for weekday (Sunday-Thursday) and another for weekend (Friday-Saturday) arrivals. It goes without saying that weekday stays are comparatively cheaper and I would personally recommend that you stay on a weekday if possible, for a more relaxing experience. Priced from just S$299+ (S$328.90 nett) for a weekday stay, this is definitely one of the best 'hotel voucher offers' that I have seen to date. I have not covered any hotel voucher sale previously but this is one that you should check out if you are planning a special stay with your loved one or even just a short family getaway. As mentioned earlier, the sale will only run from 10-24 October 2020 but the redemption period for these vouchers will be from 11 October 2020 to 29 December 2020 (do note that blackout dates apply).

Marina Bay View Room (S$323+)

I have previously reviewed the Club Marina Bay Room at the Mandarin Oriental, Singapore which is a fairly good representation of what you can expect from the room alone (just ignore all the bits about the Oriental Club which is closed at the moment anyway). As part of the experiential stay that the hotel has organised for me, I stayed in a Marina Bay View Room which will be priced at S$323+ (slightly higher than the lead-in Deluxe Room category) - there has been a number of (positive) changes to the room since my last stay.

Personally, I was thrilled to find out that there is now a Nespresso machine in the room - I have stayed at the Mandarin Oriental, Singapore on multiple occasions that the lack of a coffee machine has always bugged me. TWG teabags are also provided in one of the cabinets below for those of you who prefer a different source of caffeine.

3-Course Dinner for Two (Once per Stay)

The Epicurean Escapade vouchers come with a complimentary 3-course dinner experience for two and I was informed that mine would be arranged at the poolside Italian restaurant, Dolce Vita. While I was initially worried that the portions might not be big enough for a dinner, I was quickly convinced otherwise when the Greek Salad made its way to the table - think baby roamine, tomatoes, Kalamata olives, cucumber, feta cheese and sourdough croutons. Honestly, this could have been a main course for me personally as the portion was huge and I was already quite full by the time I was done with the salad.

For the choice of main course, I had the option of having either the grilled catch of the day (seabass), roasted chicken breast or the spaghetti bolognese. I went with the seabass which was served with mash Idaho potatoes and sauteed greens - it was delicious and once again, a substantial plate of protein so I really don't think you will go hungry after this.

Finally for the last course, I had the option of freshly-cut fruits or the hazelnut chocolate mousse. While I am not typically a fan of dessert, the chocolate mousse sounded divine.

Breakfast for Two at Dolce Vita

Melt Café is currently closed so hotel guests can enjoy breakfast at the beautiful Dolce Vita instead. While it was storming pretty hard on the morning that I was there, there were still al fresco tables (that are kept dry) outside so I could still enjoy the delicious food by the pool in spite of the wet weather. The breakfast menu comes with a selection of freshly-baked breads, fruit juices, fruits as well as cereal. Main courses (included as part of breakfast) such as Eggs Benedict, pancakes, waffles, nasi lemak, roti prata and congee are also available - I personally opted for the Eggs Benedict which was delicious!

6:00 PM Late Checkout and 25% Discount on F&B

Now you may already know this but the Mandarin Oriental, Singapore is part of the Fine Hotels & Resorts program (an exclusive perk for American Express Platinum Members) that booking the FHR rate comes with a guaranted 4:00 PM late check-out. With the Epicurean Escapade voucher, you will get a guaranteed late checkout timing of 6:00 PM which is extremely generous and it certainly helps you to stretch the stay so there is more time to enjoy the facilities like that amazing pool.

Do note that due to Safe Management Measures, hotel guests will be required to book a pool slot in order to access it - according to the guidelines provided to me at check-in, each room is limited to two hours of pool time per day and prior booking is required. With that being said, I do believe that this is only something that the property will enforce when reaching its capacity limits (another reason to stay on a weekday as opposed to a weekend!).
