Most hotels have adjusted their room rates downwards due to soft demand but certain properties in Singapore actually have higher room rates now than before - the W Singapore - Sentosa Cove is one great example. The W Singapore - Sentosa Cove is a Category 6 property which means the off-peak, standard, and peak award rates are priced at 40,000, 50,000, and 60,000 respectively - weekends are almost always at 60,000 and the cash rate typically hovers around S$550 to S$600 for a basic room. Therefore, if you do have a weekend stay planned at the W Singapore - Sentosa Cove, being able to book it for 40,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points is not necessarily a bad deal.
Additionally, Marriott Bonvoy members who are looking to enjoy a longer stay can consider booking an award stay for five consecutive nights - the cheapest night will be free of charge so you are essentially redeeming points for four-nights on a five-night stay. Taking the same W Singapore - Sentosa Cove example above, you can practically do a 5-night stay at the beautiful property for just 160,000 Marriott Bonvoy points!
As we bid farewell to 2025, I take a look back at my hotel stay statistics for the year. With 91 nights at Marriott and 70 at Hyatt, I have solidified my top-tier status where it matters most. However, with Hilton’s introduction of Diamond Reserve, my strategy for 2026 is shifting. Here is a breakdown of my nights, status retention plans, and why I am prioritising World of Hyatt and Marriott Bonvoy in the new year.
