The Best Luxury Staycation Deals in Singapore - Handpicked by The Shutterwhale
In case you have not heard, some hotels in Singapore have received approval from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to accept leisure bookings from local residents. That's right, you can now do staycations at approved hotels! As most of us are still unable to travel due to the current situation and restrictions, a domestic vacation in the form of a staycation may be highly satisfying at this point. More hotels are slowly being approved by the STB but here are some of my favourite luxury staycation offers in Singapore that you can take advantage of - these are not the cheapest in terms of an absolute dollar perspective, but definitely a fantastic deal (most of them at never seen before prices) that you should try to take advantage of! Do note that not all of the listed hotels are currently approved by the STB (but hopefully soon) so do keep that in mind.

The Suite Life at the Raffles Hotel Singapore comes with the following inclusions:
Complimentary upgrade, subject to availability*
Early check-in at 11:00 AM and late check-out at 4:00 PM

The Shutterwhale’s Take: This is definitely the lowest rate that I have seen for the Raffles Hotel Singapore so if the property is on your bucket list, there is no greater time to stay than now. The S$100 Hotel Experiential credit only sweetens the deal - 藝 yì by Jereme Leung is a fantastic place to use your credits at.
Capella Villa Experience at Capella Singapore (from S$688++ a Night)
Approval Status: Approved
[Update: Capella Singapore has removed this offer and you can no longer book it.]
Book the Capella Villa Experience at the Capella Singapore for stays consumed before 31 August 2020 - pay for a Premier Seaview Room and score a guaranteed upgrade into a massive One Bedroom Villa that comes with a private plunge pool. This room package is only applicable for weekday bookings between Sunday and Friday (subject to availability).
The Capella Villa Experience at Capella Singapore comes with the following inclusions:
Early check-in, late check-out
Choice of in-room breakfast or at The Knolls for two daily
20% off F&B at The Knolls and Cassia
Complimentary overnight parking per room per night
The Shutterwhale’s Take: There are only a handful of pet-friendly hotels in Singapore and the Capella Singapore is right at the top in terms of product. I have previously stayed in a Two Bedroom Villa with my family (and dog!) and it is truly one of the most memorable stays that I have had locally. If you have annual leaves to clear, getting a One Bedroom Villa for just S$688++ a night is ridiculously cheap as the cheapest that I have seen is around S$920++ per night.
Suite Temptations at W Singapore - Sentosa Cove (from S$635++ a Night)
Approval Status: Approved
[Update: Entry price for room package has increased from S$510++ to S$635++]
The W Singapore - Sentosa Cove is one of the first few hotels in Singapore to be approved by STB to start accepting leisure bookings from local residents - the property is already open at the time of writing so you can start planning your staycation as quickly as possible. The Suite Temptations room package offers a night in the Marvelous Suite (the bathtub comes fitted with jets!) and S$100 F&B credit.
The Suite Temptations room package at W Singapore - Sentosa Cove comes with the following inclusions:
Daily breakfast at the kitchen table
S$100 F&B credit
Complimentary access to High Speed Wireless Internet
Complimentary overnight parking per room per night
Complimentary access to AWAY® Spa facilities
Complimentary rollaway bed for the little ones
The Shutterwhale’s Take: The W Singapore - Sentosa Cove is a difficult property to score a suite upgrade (even if you are Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite and higher) if you are staying on a weekend. It is very popular with families and couples looking to spend time away from their homes and the freeform pool is a huge draw. The Marvelous Suite is fantastic so if you are planning to do a weekend stay, locking-in a guaranteed suite is going to make all the difference. If you are planning to stay in the lead-in room category, be sure to check out the Luminous Rate (same as the BAR) to get extra perks like USD 100 dining credit and space-available upgrades.
Valley Wing Indulgence at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore (from S$645++ a Night)
Approval Status: Approved
[Update] The 8 AM / 8 PM early check-in and late check-out has been removed for new bookings. The price has also been adjusted to start from S$645++ per night instead of the previous S$525++ per night.
The Valley Wing at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore is probably one of the most exclusive and opulent areas of the property. Room rates here are considerably higher than that in the Tower and Garden Wing but hotel guests here will get to enjoy benefits like all-day Champagne, afternoon tea, breakfast, as well as evening cocktails. The Valley Wing Indulgence room package sweetens the deal by adding in a 90-minute massage treatment for two.
The Valley Wing Indulgence at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore comes with the following inclusions:
Daily breakfast for 2 adults
Daily afternoon tea at The Valley Wing Lobby Lounge
Daily evening canapes, cocktails at the Champagne Bar
Unlimited all-day champagne at The Champagne Bar
In-room butler drawn bubble bath with rose petals
A 90-minute massage experience for 2 at Chi, The Spa.
Check-in at 8 am and check-out at 8 pm
24-hour butler service for suite room guests
Complimentary parking
Wireless Internet access
The Shutterwhale’s Take: The ultimate dream for Champagne-lovers and couples. A 90-minute spa treatment for two at Chi, The Spa costs S$470++ on a normal day so there is no reason not to make that occasion into a stay for just S$55++ more - you will get a room with afternoon tea, all-day Champagne, breakfast and evening cocktails! It is worth noting that Golden Circle members can earn double points on stays consumed before 30 August 2020 so this is a fantastic opportunity for you to pick up some extra points along the way.
Sea Breeze & Champagne at The Barracks Hotel Sentosa (from S$559++ a Night)
Approval Status: Approved
[Update: A previous room rate of S$470++ was communicated (which would have made this a really good deal) but they have now amended the room package to start from S$559++ per night.]
The Barracks Hotel Sentosa is one of Far East Hospitality’s latest properties in Sentosa and the luxury hotel is nestled within a heritage hideaway. Enjoy the flexibility of a 24-hour stay when you book this package and indulge in experiences like a one-way limousine transfer and an afternoon tea experience (with free-flowing Champagne) without having to leave the property.
Sea Breeze & Champagne at The Barracks Hotel Sentosa comes with the following inclusions:
Complimentary breakfast
Access to The Living Room with all-day refreshments and evening cocktails & canapés from 6 pm – 8 pm
One set of afternoon tea for 2 persons per stay with free-flow champagne coupled with a unique tea tailoring experience
24-hour stay (subject to availability)
One-way limousine transfer
Attractive perks such as discounts of up to 20% for selected F&B outlets
The Shutterwhale’s Take: With a much higher room rate typically, getting all the inclusions that come with the room at The Barracks Hotel Sentosa is decent - this is perfect for couples looking to spend a quiet weekend away. Forget the usual 3 PM check-in and 12 PM check-out timing when you opt for the 24-hour stay privilege - simply check-out 24 hours later from the time you register and you are all set for a fantastic weekend getaway!
As mentioned earlier, not all of the aforementioned hotels have been approved by STB and MTI to accept leisure booking requests (i.e. staycation) from local residents yet but it should not be long before we see more hotels being added to the list. This is not an exhaustive list of promotions and it goes without saying that properties are launching (or have launched) new stay packages to attract local residents in a bid to combat the economic downturn. With that being said, this list contains only deals that have made the cut - it is also a working list and I will be updating it as more deals surface over the next couple of days.
