50% Bonus on Golden Circle Award Points Purchases and Up to 60% Less Points Required for Award Nights
From 15-31 July 2020, purchase Golden Circle Award Points and enjoy an extra 50% bonus - members can purchase up to 10,000 points (before bonus) in each calendar year - this is actually an excellent opportunity (especially for Jade and Diamond members) and I will cover this below. At the same time, Golden Circle is also currently running a 'Less is More' redemption promotion, where members can save up to 60% off the usual number of Golden Circle Award Points required for a free night.

Get Up to 30.6% Discount on Future Dining When Buying Points
Golden Circle Award Points can be purchased in increments of 50 and 100 and they are typically priced at USD 13 per 100 points. With the 50% bonus on points (so long you purchase before the end of 31 July 2020), the price of 100 points goes down from USD 13 to just USD 8.67. Before we look at room redemptions, it is worth noting that 100 Golden Circle Award Points are typically worth USD 10 when redeeming them for F&B across any Shangri-La hotel and resort, Kerry hotel, JEN hotel or Traders hotel worldwide. Jade and Diamond members actually get 25% more value so 100 Golden Circle Award Points are worth USD 12.50 when utilised for dining. This creates an interesting opportunity (but keep in mind that the savings may differ due to currency fluctuations when utilised outside of the US) for members since you can essentially purchase 'future dining credits' at a 13.3% (Gold members) or 30.6% (Jade and Diamond members) discount.
60% Less Points Required for a Club Room or Suite
Golden Circle members can also save up to 60% on the usual number of points required for a free night if they are redeeming their Golden Circle Award Points across Greater Asia (excluding China). Members can save 50% and 60% off the usual number of points required for a Standard Room and a Club Room/Suite across all participating hotels in Greater Asia respectively. 20-30% savings on required points can also be enjoyed when booking for stays across other global properties so this might represent a pretty good opportunity - check the number of points required before making a decision on whether to purchase Golden Circle Award Points with the 50% bonus.
The number of required points for a free night at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore under the aforementioned promotion are as follows:
Standard Room - 3,250 GC Award Points (6,500)
Horizon Club Room - 3,400 GC Award Points (8,500)
Suite - 4,800 GC Award Points (12,000)
As a quick reminder, Golden Circle members can earn double points on stays and dining spend across all participating properties worldwide until 31 August 2020 if they sign-up for the You Deserve Double Rewards campaign.
