World of Hyatt - Hyatt's new global loyalty program has been unveiled today and it will come into effect from 01 March 2017. The current Gold Passport program will cease from 28 February 2017 and the current 3-tier elite membership program will be reorganised into a 4-tier one to reward bigger spenders and travellers who spend more nights in hotels each year. As you may know already, you may now purchase Hyatt Gold Passport Points with up to a 40% bonus as long as you purchase between now and 25 October 2016. These points may be used for free nights at Hyatt Hotels and Hyatt Residence Club stays around the world or you may even utilise them for things like nightly Regency Club and Suite upgrades (or convert them into miles!). The craziness that followed the Starwood acquisition news saw Hyatt scrambling and offering Hyatt Diamond. While the hotel giant has previously accepted top tier statuses with competing programs like IHG Spire Elite, Hilton Diamond Elite, Marriott Platinum Elite and SPG Platinum Elite, the conditions of getting a status match have become more stringent over time.
