Housed within the iconic former General Post Office (GPO) building at No.1 Martin Place, The 416-room Fullerton Hotel Sydney is now officially open in the heart of Sydney's Central Business District. This opening marks the first international expansion of The Fullerton Hotels and Resorts portfolio.

The Fullerton Hotel Sydney will debut as a luxury heritage hotel in the CBD with an attractive opening offer to celebrate its partnership with Preferred Hotels & Resorts and the brand’s I Prefer Hotel Rewards programme.

The Fullerton Hotels and Resorts will be expanding the brand’s portfolio with the management of The Fullerton Hotel Sydney from 18 October 2019. Currently The Westin Sydney, the iconic property located on 1 Martin Place will be re-branded into The Fullerton Hotel Sydney and it will become the group’s first foray outside of Singapore.

A management agreement has been signed between the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Watson Elite for Sydney's first Hotel Indigo which is slated to open in 2021. The third Hotel Indigo property planned for Australia (following the Hotel Indigo Brisbane Fortitude Valley as well as Hotel Indigo Melbourne Docklands), Hotel Indigo Sydney Central, will be located opposite Capitol Square in the central precinct of Sydney.

Australia's first Curio Collection by Hilton property has just opened up in Sydney's Central Business District (CBD) and next to the brand new waterfront leisure and commercial Barangaroo precinct. The West Hotel Sydney, Curio Collection by Hilton is a newly-built hotel with 182 beautifully-appointed rooms and suites.

The Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour is the only new-built hotel in Sydney's CBD that opened this millennium. The brand new property is centrally located opposite the International Convention Centre and it offers 590 guestrooms (including 39 suites) with sweeping views of the famous Darling Harbour and city.

Beijing is Qantas' third destination in Greater China and the new service operated a 235-seat Airbus A330-200 aircraft will connect Sydney to Beijing directly. With flights that depart daily, this brand new service by Qantas is expected to add 3,300 seats to the market each week and the inbound flights have been timed to connect with Qantas' domestic network to popular destinations like Melbourne, Brisbane and Hobart.

When I stayed at the Four Points by Sherton Sydney, Darling Harbour last year, I fell in love with it. The newly-refurbished hotel offers a really impressive view of the harbour (check it out here!) and the location is also really great with everything within walking distance. I read this morning that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with a M&L Hospitality affiliate to transform the Four Points by Sherton Sydney, Darling Harbour into the Hyatt Regency Sydney. The re-brand will officially happen on 30 November 2016 if the agreement goes through.
