If you have been following me on Instagram, you would have seen my photos from my (not too) recent Melbourne trip. Even though I have been to the amazing city on multiple occasions, it was actually the first time I rented a car to get around - I have always had the privilege of my friends chauffeuring me around  but I did not want to bother them this time round. As part of my Melbourne 2016 trip, I visited one of the most charming vineyards around in Yarra Valley, Domaine Chandon. 

Everyone loves tangible travel privileges that you can enjoy with your credit card. It's not uncommon (though it is becoming increasingly difficult) to get airport limousine transfers from credit card spend and most decent credit cards give you a few lounge accesses every year. The Citi ULTIMA is an elite credit card that is not commonly advertised and the reason for that is very simple - it's by invitation-only and it requires an AUM of S$5,000,000 (compare this to Priority Banking in Singapore!). 

In case you have not already heard, Apple Pay now supports credit cards from five major banks in Singapore - UOB, OCBC, POSB, DBS and Standard Chartered (SC). Apple Pay was first made available for American Express cardholders only in Singapore and now it is rolling out to everyone else. While I do love American Express for their service and (some) offers, it is simply not the best way to rake up miles unless you were shopping with one of the EXTRA Partners.

If you do not have a UOB Preferred Platinum American Express card which gives 4 miles per dollar on dining, chances are that you are now unable to apply for it anymore - existing cardholders should have them until they expire. The greatest alternative to the aforementioned card is probably the HSBC Advance Visa Platinum card but did you know that you have to be a HSBC Advance account holder in order to apply?

The credit cards from ANZ seem to be going downhill. I have just successfully cancelled my ANZ Optimum World MasterCard since they did not want to waive the annual fee (and paying the fee for a cashback card really makes no sense), the list of free airport lounge with the ANZ Travel Visa Signature Card  has been deteriorating and now with effect from 01 June 2016, the complimentary airport limousine transfer benefit will be discontinued.
