Complete Guide to Singapore Airlines Co-branded Credit Cards by American Express
About a week ago, I commented on a post on The Straits Times after spotting a (potentially) brand new Singapore Airlines and American Express co-branded credit card. Today, American Express has officially unveiled that card (alongside three existing co-branded credit cards) with exciting new benefits. Here is a summary of all the four Singapore Airlines co-branded credit cards from American Express!
Out of the four Singapore Airlines and American Express co-branded credit cards, two of them are open to public for application and two of them are by invitation-only (you will need to have PPS status). Let's go through the two main cards first:
The American Express® Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Credit Card
Resembling the American Express Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Ascend Credit Card, this brand new version is an entry-level credit card for people who are interested in accruing KrisFlyer miles without having to pay the conversion fee. The income requirement for this card is S$30,000 (lower than that of the Ascend version) and it allows you to earn 2 miles per S$1 equivalent in foreign currency spent overseas on eligible purchases during June and December 2016.

The American Express® Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Ascend Credit Card
The American Express Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Ascend Credit Card is not a new card and the benefits are kept largely the same. As I have mentioned previously, it is possible to get a complimentary upgrade into KrisFlyer Elite Gold (Star Alliance Gold) when you spend S$15,000 on SingaporeAir.com within the first 12 months from the date of card approval. If you do this before 30 June 2017, you will also be rewarded with a Double KrisFlyer Miles Accrual Voucher (capped at 5,000 bonus KrisFlyer miles).

The American Express® Singapore Airlines PPS Club Credit Card
Moving on to the invitation-only credit cards, the American Express Singapore Airlines PPS Club Credit Card requires existing PPS Club status (which you can find out about more here). The card will give you a 50% KrisFlyer Miles Redemption Voucher when you spend S$75,000 or more on your Card between 1 May 2016 and 30 June 2017. This voucher entitles you to a one-off 50% saving (capped at 50,000 KrisFlyer miles) when you redeem your KrisFlyer miles for an eligible redemption award booking.
Similar to the Ascend version, you will also receive a Double KrisFlyer Miles Accrual Voucher when you spend S$15,000 or more on your Card on SingaporeAir.com between 1 May 2016 and 30 June 2017 - this is however capped at 10,000 bonus KrisFlyer miles (instead of 5,000). You won't be getting the fast track to KrisFlyer Elite Gold because you already have that with the PPS Status.

The American Express® Singapore Airlines Solitaire PPS Credit Card
Finally, the pièce de résistance of this whole collection, The American Express® Singapore Airlines Solitaire PPS Credit Card which requires the Singapore Airlines Solitaire PPS status - you can get yours by spending S$250,000 across five years in premium cabins on Singapore Airlines. With this card, expect to enjoy a 1-Sector Upgrade into Suites/First Class on Singapore Airlines when you spend above S$50,000 on your Card at SingaporeAir.com by 30 June 2017.
Similar to the regular PPS version of the credit card, this card will also give you a 50% KrisFlyer Miles Redemption Voucher when you spend S$75,000 or more on your Card between 1 May 2016 and 30 June 2017 - capped at 50,000 KrisFlyer miles.
