American Express Singapore has announced a significant devaluation to the Membership Rewards programme effective 23 February 2026. Transfers to major airline partners like Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific will require 25% more points, while transfers to Emirates will require 50% more. A temporary foreign currency spending bonus for Platinum Card members has also been announced.

American Express has unveiled its 2026 roadmap for The Platinum Card, signaling a major shift from statement credits to curated experiences. Effective 2026, the Local Dining, Entertainment, and Fashion credits will cease. In their place, Card Members will receive a complimentary Table for Two dining experience every two months, plus a refreshed S$400 Platinum Wine Credit.

American Express is now accepted for public transport fares on Singapore’s MRT and buses. From 3-31 July 2025, eligible cardholders can register for an Amex Offer to receive S$3 back on every S$6 spent on transit fares, up to five times per registered card.

American Express will retire Amex Pay in Singapore from 31 July 2025. Existing users can still use their Cards on Amex Pay until 30 July 2025, but no further payments will be processed after that date.

From 15 May 2025, Singapore commuters can tap their American Express cards for MRT and bus rides. No pre-registration, no added fees - just seamless rewards and convenience.
