Check Your Bonus Points on DBS Altitude Card - Online Hotel & Travel Spend NOT Getting 3 Miles per Dollar!
I personally recommend the DBS Woman's World Mastercard (WMC) and DBS Altitude Card combo if you typically charge a lot of online travel expenses to your card - I personally max out the S$2,000 bonus each month on the WMC and charge the remaining online hotel and travel expenses to my DBS Altitude Card (up to S$5,000) for the rest of the statement period. Now, DBS advertises 3 miles per dollar on the DBS Altitude Card and if it is charged in SGD, you will earn 1,2 miles (in equivalent DBS Points) at the time of posting and the rest in the following month (usually on the 16th unless it is not a business day). However, I realised that over S$4,000 of my expenses in the previous month did not earn any bonus DBS Points (even though they are all online hotel expenses!).
The CBD Warrior's Guide to Affordable Healthy Lunches - Stacking Waitrr, Credit Cards and Promo Codes
Last month, I wrote about how using Waitrr has helped me beat the queues at popular lunch spots in the CBD and more importantly, to help me save money in the long run. As I have mentioned previously, there is no price mark-up when you make an order via Waitrr and you will probably enjoy greater discounts since there are promotions that run from time to time and also a loyalty programme that you can take advantage of. If you are a new user, using my referral code 'MAR94817' will give you S$3 off your first order.
Convert OCBC VOYAGE Miles into KrisFlyer Miles with No Minimum and No Conversion Fees
Believe it or not but the OCBC VOYAGE Card is where I have been charging all my foreign expenses to recently. Sure the BOC Elite Miles Card and UOB Visa Signature Card offers 5 mpd and 4 mpd respectively but I am currently in the midst of consolidating my credit cards - it also takes a home loan to find out how much unsecured credit you actually have. While poking around the OCBC Rewards platform today, I realised that you can now convert OCBC VOYAGE Miles into KrisFlyer Miles without a minimum amount (well, 1 is the minimum).
American Express Adds Four New Locations from JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach to Chillax Programme
Last month, I wrote about Cool Cats and Fish Pool from The NCO Club potentially joining the American Express Chillax programme. This is now confirmed as American Express has updated the Chillax website to include both bars - the promotion works slightly different for these two bars but I will provide more information below. In addition to that, Madame Fan (which has amazing Chinese food) as well as the Court Martial Bar have also joined the programme.
World of Hyatt Makes Premium Suites Available on Points but Makes Points + Cash More Expensive
There has been plenty of speculation going on in the industry and the suspicions have been confirmed - World of Hyatt members will be required to pay 'more' for free nights using Points + Cash from 01 November 2018. At the time of writing, there is a 40% bonus for World of Hyatt points and I highly recommend everyone to take advantage of this offer since this may be the last chance for you to take advantage of the current Points + Cash rates. On the bright side, members will also be able to use their points for free nights in premium suites and there will no longer be a minimum length of stay for free nights in suites.
Cool Cats and Fish Pool from The NCO Club to Join Chillax Programme by American Express
If you love a tipple or two in the evening, the Chillax Programme by American Express is a great reason to get The Platinum Card (which comes with an extensive suite of benefits). Platinum and Platinum Reserve Credit Card holders also enjoy the same Chillax benefits and from the list of participating bars in Chillax Bar Hop 2018, it appears that two new bars will be joining the program soon - Cool Cats and Fish Pool from The NCO Club (yes, that’s the one at JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach).
Ulu Cliffhouse - Uluwatu's Answer to a Beach Club with Impressive Food and Drinks
There are no lack of beach clubs in Bali and it is no secret that the Island of the Gods is one of my favourite weekend destinations - I have already clocked five separate visits and counting this year alone! Check out one of Uluwatu’s newest and most happening beach clubs - the Ulu Cliffhouse!
A Rare Opportunity for Platinum Members to Triple Dip - Third Night Free + FHR + Golden Circle
Here's a rare opportunity to get plenty of bang for your buck when you triple dip on promotions that are currently running. If you have been thinking about using your S$400 Lodging Credit from The Platinum Card or a staycation in Singapore, now might just be the best time for you to do it. As I have mentioned in my previous article on Fine Hotels & Resorts, the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore is currently running a third night free offer and if you were to time it with Golden Circle's 8th Anniversary bonuses, you will be walking away with plenty of value for your stay.
