China's Juneyao Airlines to join Star Alliance in 2017
Juneyao Airlines (known as 吉祥航空 which translates into Auspicious Airlines) that is based in Shanghai, China, has announced that it will be joining the world's largest airline alliance group, Star Alliance in 2017. Founded in 2005, Juneyao Airlines operate international and domestic flights from both Shanghai airports as it now aims to expand its international services for more Chinese tourists to travel abroad.

Juneyao Airlines currently operate flights out of Shanghai to neighbouring countries like Japan, South Korea and Thailand but the upcoming membership in Star Alliance and potential codeshare partnersh will see an increase in flight offerings which will definitely include long-haul and intercontinental routes.
