For the whole month of March 2017, book for a stay (to be completed before 31 December 2017) at any DISCOVERY hotel to win a free two-night stay at ANY participating DISCOVERY property. Every eligible booking will count as one entry so make sure you book between 01 March 2017 to 31 March 2017 for a chance to walk away with a free two-night stay.
The booking has to be made via gha.com or discoveryloyalty.com in order for it to be considered as an eligible entry - you will also have to be a DISCOVERY member (loyalty has its perks!) in order to take part. There will be a grand total of five winners and they will be notified by 30 April 2017 - winners will then receive their hotel voucher in the mail within two weeks from the date of acceptance.
One of my travel highlights this year is traveling to Uluwatu in Bali - the flight from Singapore to Bali is easy and I highly recommend Singapore Airlines' Business Class product on the 787-10 Dreamliner. I have flown it multiple times and I really think that it is the best regional Business Class product out there. The American Express Platinum Concierge somehow managed to negotiate with the InterContinental Bali Resort on my behalf to convert the airport transfer (which was included in my room rate there) into a private transfer to Uluwatu for a fee. As such, it was not long before I arrived in Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort for one of the most luxurious weekends that I have ever spent in Bali.
The Pan Pacific Melbourne was rebranded from the Hilton Melbourne South Wharf (which I have personally stayed in at least three times) back in 2017 and ever since then, the property has gone through refurbishment to ensure that both the hardware and software are in line with the Pan Pacific brand globally. I flew in to Melbourne on Emirates and since I was traveling on Business Class, I got to enjoy a complimentary chauffeur-drive service from the airport to a place of my choice. Check out my review of the Pacific Club King Room here at the Pan Pacific Melbourne!
A couple of months ago, I spent a long weekend at the PARKROYAL on Pickering in an Orchid Club Deluxe Room and was completely won over by the experience. Check out my experience in this luxurious Orchid Club Junior Suite with a separate living room and Orchid Club Lounge access!
The PARKROYAL on Pickering is one of the first few hotels in Singapore to truly make a commitment towards being sustainable and eco-friendly. While a number of properties have now caught up with green living, there are only a handful of hotels in Singapore that have been awarded with the BCA Green Mark Platinum Award. Check out my review of the Orchid Club Deluxe Room here!
A third daily flight between Singapore and Auckland has been announced earlier this month and while it will only commence on 28 October 2018, the route is well-served by a number of solid products. In the summer months, passengers traveling on Singapore Airlines may consider trying out the excellent Suites and Business Class product on the A380. After staying at the Hilton Auckland for about a week, I moved over to the Rydges Auckland for the weekend as it was considerably more affordable and it is situated right in the middle of the city along Federal Street. Read my review of the King Residence Suite here!
I checked out one of the most popular honeymoon property in Phuket, the Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas and fell deeply in love with it. The resort grounds are beautiful and the villas are truly private and amazing. Check out my review of the Lagoon Pool Villa here!
I checked out the Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort for the first time - read about my experience here as a DISCOVERY Loyalty Black Member as well as the amazing breakfast and infinity pool that the property has!
I spent my Christmas Eve back in 2015 in the Pan Pacific Singapore's Pacific Harbour Studio which is easily one of the nicest rooms I have stayed in Singapore. In 2016, I decided that it would be a great idea to revisit the Pan Pacific Singapore's Harbour Studio (one that I used to stay quite a bit back in 2015) on Christmas Day since I had a long weekend away from work. Being a DISCOVERY Loyalty Black Member has its perks - your check-in documents are usually prepared beforehand and therefore you can generally bypass the snaking queues and get to your room (or suite!) a lot faster.
The Pan Pacific Orchard is one of my favourite Global Hotel Alliance properties in Singapore - the DISCOVERY Loyalty Program which in my opinion, is one of the best hotel loyalty programs for staycation-goers in Singapore, offers a late check-out of 6PM and early check-in of 9AM for top-tier Black members. I have stayed at the Pan Pacific Orchard on multiple occasions (perhaps ten times already!) and have always gotten the benefits of being a Black member in the DISCOVERY Loyalty program. The Pacific Club Studio is my favourite room type in the hotel and as mentioned in my previous article, you do get a double upgrade (where space is available) for being a Black member.
I spent the Christmas Eve of 2015 at the Pan Pacific Singapore (the Mandarin Oriental, Singapore in 2014 and the Hilton Singapore in 2013) as part of my personal tradition. Since I wanted to take full advantage of my expiring Black status with the DISCOVERY Loyalty status then, I deliberately booked the Pacific Club room and enjoyed a two category upgrade (as per Black benefits) into the Pacific Harbour Studio (one that I have been dying to check out!) for Christmas Eve.
