ShopBack GO Launches Dining (Including Buy One Get One) Deals with Super Season 1 - Earn up to S$60 Bonus and 4 Miles per Dollar with UOB Cards!

There are no lack of dining subscriptions and memberships (however they call it) in Singapore but most if not all of them require you to pay a fee to use them. I have never personally been a fan of these programmes and have found better ways to save plenty on my dining expenses in Singapore. ShopBack GO is a personal favourite since it works seamlessly - all you have to do is to link your credit card and the cashback (where applicable) from dining expenses will automatically get credited into your ShopBack account (almost instantaneously!) for free.

As far as I know (once again, I am not commissioned by ShopBack or any company to write this article and I am writing this out of personal interest), Super Season 1 by ShopBack GO is offering 1-for-1 (essentially buy one get one) deals on top of their usual boosted cashback (for select merchants), loyalty rewards (limited but relatively new feature) and special vouchers. Unlike paid dining subscriptions like Burpple or The Entertainer (if that is still relevant in 2019), ShopBack GO is absolutely free so you can enjoy these BOGO deals for no additional charge. I am not sure how the 1-for-1 deals work with ShopBack GO but there is a 'Redeem Now' button on each one of the participating merchants so hopefully, I will be able to find some time to check it out later this week.

At the time of writing, ShopBack GO only allows you to link Visa and Mastercard cards on the (no love for American Express cards at the moment) but if you hold a UOB Card, you will be able to get up to S$60 bonus cashback across the whole Super Season 1 (which apparently runs from October to December 2019). The total of S$60 in bonus cash back will be issued over three months (S$20 each month) upon successful completion of the challenges. In October 2019, I am required to dine at six different ShopBack GO restaurants and pay with my linked UOB Card to earn S$20 bonus cashback - a minimum spend of S$20 is required per transaction. It is possible that the challenge for each month could be different.

The UOB Preferred Platinum Visa Card will probably be the best card to use during the Super Season 1 if you wish to take advantage of the aforementioned promotion. However, the maximum number of miles (essentially 20 miles per S$5) will only be issued if you can find a merchant that takes contactless payment (e.g. Apple Pay or Visa payWave). Now obviously if you plan on visiting merchants that do not take this form of payment, you may be better off with another card.
