New Pandapro Subscription From Foodpanda Offers Unlimited Free Delivery, Exclusive Savings and Greater Pick-up Discounts Across Partners - 1-for-1 Deals Are Coming Soon!
When foodpanda unveiled a monthly subscription programme last year (aptly-named pandapro) for select users, I was lucky enough to be targeted but as my payment lapsed (due to a reissue of credit card and a change in details), I was unable to renew my subscription and have therefore not been able to subscribe to it until now. I received an EDM yesterday from foodpanda, informing me about the new pandapro subscription so do check your email inboxes to see if you have been targeted as well.

Apparently pandapro is now available to everyone so you should check the foodpanda app even if you do not receive an EDM - it should show up after tapping on 'food delivery'.
A pandapro subscription goes for S$14.99 a month but targeted users have been offered a promotional rate of S$7.99 a month from now until 01 February 2021. Subscribers of the pandapro membership will enjoy exclusive discounts and free deliveries (minimum order required) across participating restaurants and partners on the platform:
Unlimited Free Delivery: valid on 1,000+ restaurants for orders above S$15
Up to 20% off on Restaurants: valid on 1,000+ restaurants for orders above S$15
Extra 5% off Pick-up (20% in total instead of the usual 15%): valid for all Pick-up Orders
10% off pandamart (2 vouchers per month): valid for all pandamart orders above S$15
1-for-1 Dine-in Deals (coming soon!): valid on all participating restaurants
Unlimited Free Delivery (S$15 Minimum Spend)
According to the FAQs online, the benefits of a pandapro subscription are automatically applied and this is a huge differentiating factor from what competitors are offering. Since free delivery and pick-up discounts are automatically applied (once the minimum order amount is met), you will still be able to use other promo codes on top of your membership plan benefits. I am talking about discounted codes sold on platforms like Shopee, but if you have no idea what I am referring to, do check out my previous guide on saving money on takeaway food and deliveries. Other food delivery platforms in Singapore typically require you to use a "free delivery voucher" (even with a subscription) and that deprives you of the option to use another promo code if desired. However, it is worth noting that the free delivery benefit does not apply to all restaurants on foodpanda - only selected ones!
Up to 20% off on Restaurants (S$15 Minimum Spend)
From my understanding, having a pandapro subscription will also allow you to enjoy exclusive savings of up to 20% off across participating restaurants. What I am not entirely sure is whether or not these savings are also made available to the public (i.e. are they actually exclusive) but to be honest, this is just the icing on the cake for me as the main reason I would even consider a food delivery subscription is to simply have food delivered for free.
5% Additional Discount on Pick-up Orders
One thing that I like a lot about foodpanda is the ability to save more on self pick-up orders. Fortunately for me, I stay in an area with plenty of great food options, and being able to enjoy 15% off these self pick-up orders (without having the need to go down, queue, and physically order) is a huge benefit. With a pandapro subscription, you will get to enjoy 5% more discount on such orders (a total of 20% off) and this is also a nice add-on perk to what already seems like a great program.
10% off pandamart Orders (S$15 Minimum Spend)
While pandamart is no substitute for an actual supermarket visit or a grocery run, it certainly is useful on special occasions - when I was staying at the Ascott Raffles Place last month, I managed to get most of what I needed via pandamart without needing to leave the main building. I have also used it a couple of times for things that I have forgotten or ran out of when I am at home. The 10% discount is only applicable to orders above S$15 and this is only limited to twice per month.
1-for-1 Dine-in Deals (Coming Soon!)
Apparently, pandapro members will also get to enjoy 1-for-1 deals on foodpanda but there is very limited information surrounding this perk at the moment so I will probably reassess this when it launches.
Is the New pandapro Subscription the Same?
The newly-launched pandapro subscription is not the same as what was offered last year. The previous membership was a lot more straight-forward and it focused mainly on the number of free deliveries each month - it was also a lot cheaper since it started from just S$3.99 a month. While I will not touch on the previous membership option (since I do not think it is actually available anymore), I must say that the Priority Delivery benefit for top-tier members was something that stood out from the competition but I guess that's a pain to program (coming from someone with a day job in Data Science).
Should You Subscribe to pandapro?
It truly depends on your usage - look at the frequency in which you have utilised a food delivery platform and foodpanda in particular (since some restaurants may be exclusively on one platform only). S$7.99 is not a lot to pay if you use it even once a week and it certainly is nice to have that option in times of need. I am personally going to go ahead with this subscription and will be sure to charge it to the right credit card this time to ensure its longevity.
