Stacking the Launch Promos of the New OCBC 90°N Card for up to 9.4 Miles per Dollar - Perfect for Upcoming Travel Expenses!
OCBC unveiled a brand new credit card yesterday which comes with an amazing launch bonus - you can earn 8 miles per dollar on select travel expenses and 4 miles per dollar on all eligible foreign currency (non-SGD) transactions on the OCBC 90°N Card with no cap from now till 29 Feb 2019
Now if you are unfamiliar with the brand new OCBC 90°N Card, I highly recommend for you to check out my previous article on it in order to better understand the dynamics, earn rate and features of this credit card. If you are on the fence about applying for the OCBC 90°N Card, you should know that all successful applicants will get to enjoy an annual fee waiver in the first year - subsequently, the annual fee for this card is S$192.60 and you will get a renewal bonus of 10,000 Travel$.
Up to 2.6 Miles per Dollar on Any Eligible Spend for New Cardmembers
Customer Type | Welcome Bonus (Spend S$5,000 in 3 Months) |
Base Earn Rate (1.2 Travel$ per S$1) |
Total |
---|---|---|---|
New to Card | 7,000 Travel$ | 6,000 Travel$ | 13,000 Travel$ |
Existing | 3,000 Travel$ | 6,000 Travel$ | 9,000 Travel$ |
Should you enjoy traveling quite a fair bit, I would highly recommend getting the OCBC 90°N Card to help you rake up Travel$ (which in turn, builds your mileage bank) very quickly. In fact, if you are new-to-card and you do not hold any OCBC credit cards currently and in the last six months, you should definitely apply for the OCBC 90°N Card as the welcome bonus is 7,000 Travel$ (equivalent to 7,000 KrisFlyer miles) after spending at least S$5,000 in the first 3 months. If you hold an existing OCBC credit card, you will be able to earn 3,000 Travel$ after spending at least S$5,000 in the first 3 months. Therefore, assuming you hit the S$5,000 minimum spend at the lowest possible earn rate (1.2 Travel$ per S$1), you are still looking at a relatively desirable total of 13,000 Travel$ (2.6 mpd) and 9,000 Travel$ (1.8 mpd) for a new and existing customer respectively.
Up to 9.4 Miles per Dollar on Select Travel Spend for New Cardmembers before 29 February 2020
You might remember from my article yesterday that all successful applicants of the OCBC 90°N Card will get to enjoy an accelerated earn rate of 8 Travel$ (equivalent to 8 mpd) for every S$1 spend on select travel websites - Agoda, Expedia, Airbnb, Millennium Hotels and Resorts, as well as Mr & Mrs Smith. If you are planning for an upcoming holiday and would like to earn as many miles as possible on these expenses, charging a qualifying transaction on one of the aforementioned websites will earn you up to 8 Travel$ per S$1. Assuming you are able to accrue S$5,000 worth in qualifying transactions across all the aforementioned websites in the three months following your card approval date, you will be looking at a total of 47,000 Travel$ (including the welcome bonus of 7,000 Travel$) and this averages out at 9.4 miles per dollar!
Customer Type | Welcome Bonus (Spend S$5,000 in 3 Months) |
Launch Offer (8 Travel$ per S$1) |
Total |
---|---|---|---|
New to Card | 7,000 Travel$ | 40,000 Travel$ | 47,000 Travel$ |
Existing | 3,000 Travel$ | 40,000 Travel$ | 43,000 Travel$ |
Since making reservations on Airbnb, Millennium Hotels and Resorts, as well as Mr & Mrs Smith are all comparatively straightforward, I will only focus on the terms and conditions regarding the tactical promotions on Expedia and Agoda.
How to Earn 8 Miles per Dollar on Agoda?
Cardholders of the OCBC 90°N Card will have to make a booking between 26 August 2019 and 29 February 2020, for stays between 26 August 2019 and 30 September 2020 to enjoy 8 Travel$ per S$1 spent on the OCBC 90°N Card for hotel bookings made on Agoda.

Planning a beach day can seem simple, but unexpected issues often arise. Mornington Peninsula’s beaches are popular, which means dealing with potential crowds, fluctuating weather, and poor preparation can easily ruin your outing. Arriving late might lead to parking challenges, and picking the wrong beach can limit your planned activities. Many forget important items that could make or break their beach experience, leading to stress and missed opportunities for relaxation.
