Marriott Bonvoy Finally Extends Elite Status for All Members Globally to February 2022
It only took Marriott Bonvoy a few weeks more (than her competitors) to announce a status extension for all members globally - earned status in 2019 (which were initially supposed to expire in February 2021) will be extended to February 2022, giving you an additional year of elite benefits.
For the sake of clarification, all Marriott Bonvoy members (regardless of where you are based in), will enjoy a status extension to February 2022, based on your 2019 earned status. In addition to that, the expiration of points will be paused until 21 February 2021 - your points will only expire if your account has been inactive for at least 24 months.
If you are a Platinum Elite and higher member, and have elected Suite Night Awards (SNAs) last membership year, you will be able to enjoy a one year extension in expiry - they will now expire on 31 December 2021 instead of 2020. Finally, members who currently have an active Free Night Award (FNA) expiring in 2020 as part of their credit card benefit, annual choice benefit, promotions or travel package will be able to use it through 31 January 2021.
Following the November 2025 devaluation, the value of a KrisFlyer mile has undoubtedly dropped. While Saver awards remain the gold standard, it is time to revisit a perk that has always existed but is often ignored: the Advantage Award stopover. By leveraging the complimentary stopover on one-way Advantage redemptions, you can effectively book a second holiday for free - provided you travel within 30 days.
