21 Carpenter is slated to become Design Hotels' second property in Singapore - the property which participates in the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program is slated to open in December 2023 and it will located on 21 Carpenter Street between Chinatown and Clarke Quay.

The Warehouse Hotel which was one of the most highly-anticipated hotels to open in Singapore this year has now officially become part of Design Hotels under the portfolio of Starwood Hotels and Resorts. What this means for us point-chasers is that you will now be able to earn Starpoints on eligible room and F&B spend at The Warehouse Hotel.

As I have just recently mentioned, there are two Design Hotels with limited participation in the Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) programme in Singapore. Starwood has also unveiled a brand new promotion on the same day which allows you to earn a Free Night Award (Category 1-5) for every three eligible nights stay (up to a maximum of 2 free awards) at SPG-participating Design Hotels between now and 31 May 2016. 

While there are currently three Design Hotels in Singapore, two of them have jumped on the list of Design Hotels™ that participate in the Starwood Preferred Guest programme. Both of them are currently Category 4 properties and will require 10,000 Starpoints for a free night. 

Last month, SPG® announced that you can now enjoy some of your SPG® benefits at selected Design Hotels™ around the world. Ever since that announcement, I have gotten a few questions on where exactly there Design Hotels™ are and so I personally began looking. To my surprise, there are THREE Design Hotels™ in Singapore currently! 

It is finally official - you can now enjoy some of your SPG® benefits at selected Design Hotels™ around the world. That's right, stays at these selected Design Hotels™ now count towards obtaining (or retaining) elite status and you will earn Starpoints® (including an elite member bonus and welcome gift) where applicable. Additionally, SPG® members will also continue to receive complimentary in-room Internet access and bottled water.
