If you intend to travel between between Australia or New Zealand and London (via Singapore, Dubai or Perth) or Europe (via Dubai), Singapore or Dubai over the next year, it may be a good idea to book between now and 08 September 2017 to benefit from double Qantas Points. Not afraid of the cold and want to head to winter wonderland this year? Scoot will be flying directly from Singapore to Sapporo (in Japan) and Harbin (in China) from November and December respectively. The service will be operated by the airline's 787 Dreamliners on a seasonal basis until 11 February 2018 to help Singaporeans get there faster during the peak winter season.

According to the latest report by the Australian Business Traveller, Singapore Airlines will be unveiling the brand new Suites and Business Class product (which is expected to be retrofitted to most of Singapore Airlines' existing A380 fleet) on 02 November 2017. These products are due for a refresh after being in operation for over 10 years and it will be exciting to see how it contrasts with the existing Suites and Business Class seats.

Everyone knows that Alaska Airlines' frequent flyer program (FFP) is one of my favourites at the moment since it allows you to travel on Business Class for cheap. There is currently an opportunity to purchase Mileage Plan miles and get up to 50% more miles. If your account is targeted with the maximum 50% bonus (most new accounts get 35% which is still an amazing deal), you can essentially redeem the miles for two Business Class flights on Japan Airlines for under S$700. Singapore Airlines and Alaska Airlines have just announced a brand new partnership which will allow for reciprocal mileage earning from 27 September 2017 - redemption will soon follow.

The latest schedule update from SilkAir sees an earlier entry date of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 which will start from 05 October 2017 (previous filing was for 29 October 2017). As I have mentioned before, SilkAir is currently in the midst of transitioning from the Airbus A320s to Boeing 737-800s and 737 MAX 8s (which has a smaller seat pitch).

A brand new codeshare agreement between Singapore Airlines and the Latin-America carrier Avianca that is set to go live in September 2017 will see wider connections to Bogotá, Colombia, Avianca ́s major hub location.

When Singapore Airlines first unveiled the 70th Anniversary Amenity Kit back in May 2017 (but only started handing them out from July 2017), it took frequent flyers by surprise - known for providing amenity kits only in First Class and Suites Class, Singapore Airlines announced that it will be giving out limited edition amenity kits for all Business, First Class and Suites Class flights exiting Singapore (with the exception of Kuala Lumpur). Passengers in First Class and Suites Class who are eligible for the far more impressive Salvatore Ferragamo amenity kits will receive both the Salvatore Ferragamo branded one as well as the special anniversary amenity kit.

As you may already know, flying to Hong Kong from Singapore is one of the cheapest ways to experience the Suites Class product on Singapore Airlines - just 37,500 KrisFlyer miles one-way. Since I have previously experienced the Suites Class product and have another one planned towards the end of the year, I have decided to check out the A350-900's New Business Class product on SQ856 instead.
