Staycations in Singapore the Cheaper Way - HotelQuickly

HotelQuickly has evolved so much since I first used it and since then, I have utilised the service at least five times. I do not generally book properties with a strong loyalty program (e.g. Hyatt and Hilton) on HotelQuickly as these room nights do not count towards retaining my status each year. However, you will find really great deals on HotelQuickly especially if you know how to stack promotions. Here's how you take full advantage of HotelQuickly in Singapore.

Avoiding Cross Border Fees (and Other Hidden Costs) with Uber Singapore

I am generally a huge Uber fan and on average, I make use of the service (mostly UberX) at least five times a week. While there are many other substitutes around (e.g. GrabTaxi, CDG and Hailo), I feel that Uber has the most transparent pricing available and it also offers the most fuss-free experience. What you might not know though is that in some cases, what you see in your Uber app is not always what you are being charged on your credit card statement. 7% Online Rebate with Standard Chartered SingPost Platinum Visa Credit Card

While some of us have been grieving over the impending changes to the OCBC Frank Credit Card (wef 01 October 2015), many of us have started looking for substitutes. To be honest, while the requirement of S$400 on offline retail spend has put a lot of people off, the OCBC Frank Credit Card is still quite a decent card to have if you do spend a bit of money at cinemas, bars, clubs, KTVs and selected cafes on weekends. However, if you are looking for a credit card that gives you maximum online rebates (with its own set of terms and conditions of course), you might wish to consider the next one instead.

Reasons to Cancel your OCBC Frank Credit Card

Last month, I wrote about the benefits of having the OCBC Frank Credit Card since it offers 6% rebates for most online purchases and at the same time, the S$500 minimum spending also triggers the 0.5% interest bonus on the OCBC 360 account. Starting 01 October 2015, this card will have a revised earning rate (across different categories) and the minimum spending required will change as well. In other words (and most definitely in gaming terms), this card's been nerfed! Here are some reasons to cancel your OCBC Frank Credit Card come next month and OCBC has conveniently put together a list of changes (old vs new) that I thought was pretty honourable but it is not going to change my decision to cancel this card.

5 Credit Cards to Carry in Your Wallet (September 2015)

Anyone who is even the slightest bit interested in travel hacking or earning miles will know that it is impossible to carry just one card in your wallet. Well, technically you could but then you will be missing out on all the potential opportunities that may arise with your day-to-day life. Since the benefits and earning rates of credit cards do change from time to time (unfortunately), the cards that have a permanent place in my wallet change too over time. Here are 5 credit cards that I think you should always carry in your wallet if you are a miles chaser.
