A Farewell to Global Hotel Alliance (GHA) Black

I really loved my GHA Black benefits and you used to be able to early qualifying nights even on OTA rates but ever since 2015, you were only able to earn eligible nights when you book directly with the hotel - I have had issues when I booked via GHA itself too (strange!). Upgrade successes were always high and checking-out late is always a breeze (unless at full occupancy of course) but unfortunately, I was not able to hit 30 eligible nights this year so I will be back at Platinum next year which isn't too shabby after all.

Hotel Review: Pan Pacific Orchard (Pacific Club Studio)

The Pan Pacific Orchard is the Pan Pacific Singapore's less famous sibling and it is tucked away quietly in Orchard while still being minutes away from one of the world's most famous shopping strip. The hotel can be quite easily accessed if you are coming by MRT - hop off at Orchard Station, take the underpass, exit at Shaw House (Lido), make your way down to Palais Renaissance and you will soon find yourself at this private little hotel.

Hotel Review: Pan Pacific Orchard Road Serviced Suites

More and more Singaporeans have turned to staycations as a solution to get away from the regularity of day to day life. As an avid staycation-goer myself, I rely largely on this little breaks to get myself in tune with the things that matter to me most. As many of you may already know, I am a huge brand supporter of Pan Pacific and I have stayed in the Pan Pacific Singapore and Pan Pacific Orchard (alongside PARKROYAL on Beach Road) multiple times, with the former property being the most frequent - enough to maintain my Global Hotel Alliance (GHA) status year to year. If you are observant enough, you will notice that Singapore has a whole line of Pan Pacific Serviced Suites and I was lucky enough to get invited to check out the Pan Pacific Orchard Road Serviced Suites that is located right above the Somerset MRT.

Hotel Review: PARKROYAL on Beach Road (Premier Room)

This year the PARKROYAL on Beach Road has unveiled their newly refurbished Premier Rooms. Having found a really good rate on an OTA, I decided to give the Premier Rooms a go during the Lunar New Year break (particularly because I did not have any visiting to do too).  Even though I personally value a bath tub highly during a staycation, I think the newly refurbished rooms are truly a breath of fresh air. Read more about my experience at the PARKROYAL on Beach Road's new Premier Rooms!

The Lunar New Year is creeping right up! If you have not made any reservations for your reunion this year, you may wish to try giving the Plaza Brasserie a call to check if there are any slots left. Even if you do not wish to have your reunion dinner there, there is something you have to try this year - the Hainanese Lamb Stew!

Buy GHA Platinum for £27.49 (approx. S$57)

Business Traveller is one of my favourite magazines because it contains relevant information on hotel loyalty programs, destination information as well as airline news. If you happen to be visiting a PARKROYAL or Pan Pacific (or any other participating property in Global Hotel Alliance), it may be wise to purchase a Business Traveller Plus VIP membership for £27.49 (approx. S$57) which gives you GHA Platinum status for a year.

Keeping Track of Miles and Hotel Loyalty Points

It's easy when you are loyal to only one airline or one hotel chain. However, when you're chasing points, it is unlikely that you are loyal to only one hotel chain. How then do you keep track of your miles and hotel points in order to ensure that they don't expire before you use them? Find out how I use AwardWallet to make sure that my points and miles never expire without utilising them.
