The Shutterwhale's 2019 Complete List of New Hotel Openings in Singapore

With only less than three weeks left in 2018, it is important to look ahead to the new year and start planning for all those new hotel openings in Singapore. While 2017 was a great year for travellers since there were a number of iconic hotel openings that year, 2018 was a fairly unexciting one. There will be an increase in supply of hotel rooms in the Luxury and Mid-tier segments in 2019 and there will also be a couple of new brand introductions into the Singapore market.

Spending Power of a Secretive Billionaire

The lifestyles of the world’s billionaires reflect celebrity status globally, with the super-wealthy amongst us as scrutinized for their ability to perform as athletes, actors and politicians. Wolero One (Defunct?) is a Business Traveler's Worst Nightmare - My Terrible Experiences with This (Alleged) Luxury Limousine Service

Hopping on a taxi and using a ride-hailing app in Singapore is not difficult but I sometimes prefer a proper limousine arrangement (especially when traveling to and from the airport) since they are a lot more comfortable and predictable. My flight from Shanghai to Singapore was on a relatively new plane (9V-SKU) and as you would imagine, the Business Class cabin features the new cabin products. The Business Class seats have 55" of seat pitch and 30" of seat width - this is fairly similar to what the previous Business Class product on the A380-800 offers but strangely enough, I know a handful of people who actually prefer the previous product for sleeping. Read more about my Business Class experience now!

Located in Terminal 2 of the Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG), the No.77 China Eastern Plaza Premium Lounge is the world's first co-branded lounge and it offers 180-degree views of the airport runway. As a Business Class passenger traveling on Singapore Airlines, I had access to the Air China Business Class Lounge but having been to the Air China First Class Lounge in PEK, I was slightly discouraged to check out the Air China lounge so I decided to take my American Express Platinum Card to the No.77 China Eastern Plaza Premium Lounge instead.
