Thompson Aero Seating Selected for SilkAir's New Business Class Seats on 737 MAX 8

Back in May 2018, SilkAir announced that it will receive cabin product upgrades before being merged into Singapore Airlines eventually. Today, the regional wing of Singapore Airlines, SilkAir, has announced that Thompson Aero Seating has been selected for the upgrade of Business Class seats on its Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet.

Are Marriott Rewards Platinum Elite Members Still Getting Suite Upgrades?

The combined loyalty program of Marriott International properties will soon be relaunching under the new Marriott Bonvoy program name. Ever since the loyalty programs merged back in August 2018, I have not gotten a single suite upgrade (despite being Platinum Elite) on stays where the suites were available at check-in.

Quandoo Is Terrible but I Am Moving Some Restaurant Reservations from Chope over Anyway - Get S$17.50 on Your First Reservation

I have always been a strong advocate for Chope (and I still am!) - it costs absolutely nothing for you to use, the UI is beautiful and the extensive range of restaurants have helped to make difficult decisions over the years. Obviously getting Chope-Dollars (which convert into both vouchers and KrisFlyer miles) with every fulfilled reservation makes a huge difference as well. Quandoo is a competitor and honestly, it looks nothing like Chope - the reservation flow is terrible and navigating the site is a pain. However, the partnership with ShopBack unlocks an opportunity to earn S$4 cashback with each fulfilled reservation.

Lounge Review: Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge (Noi Bai International Airport)

When I flew out of Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) on Singapore Airlines in Business Class, I had access to Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge (sometimes referred to as NASCO Lounge) before departure. Even though Vietnam Airlines is not part of Star Alliance (it is actually part of the SkyTeam Alliance), most of the star alliance partner airlines use this lounge for their premium cabin passengers. Located in the International Departures Terminal above Gate 28, the Vietnam Airlines Lotus Lounge is open from 6:00AM to 2:00AM daily.

Hotel Review: HOSHINOYA Bali (Jalak) - Private and Luxurious Garden Pool Villa with Terrace in Ubud

My favourite way to get from Singapore to Bali is on Singapore Airlines Business Class (the 787-10 Dreamliner has a great regional Business Class product that is ahead of its competitors). Alternatively, you may consider flying on KLM’s 777-300ER Business Class product if that timing or price point suits you better. With all that being said, I usually fly in to DPS on SQ942 and there is usually only a short queue at immigration (just make sure you head to the line first before going to the bathroom). After I collected my bags, I was met with a private driver from the HOSHINOYA Bali who then escorted me to the car. Read my review of the Jalak Villa-type here in this luxurious Ubud property!
