This year, in celebration of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival 2015, Master Chef Lai Tong Ping (黎东平) of Hai Tien Lo (海天楼) has created seven classic mooncakes to commemorate this Chinese festival steeped in history and culture. These signature favourites will be available for purchase between now and 27 September 2015.

There are two new flavours for the traditional mooncakes this year - the Pandan Paste with Single Yolk (S$68.50) as well as the White Lotus Seed Paste with Black and White Sesame (S$59.90). The former mooncake is a blend of jade pandan paste that is complemented with the saltiness of the egg yolk in a golden brown baked skin. The latter creation combines the fragrance of both the black and white sesame to give it an extra crunch beneath the smooth lotus paste. Durian lovers must not miss Hai Tien Lo’s signature Mao Shan Wang Durian Snowskin (S$77.05) that hides a generous serving of Mao Shan Wang durian inside the silken snowskin.
