Nonya Chap Chye - Local Delights and Peranakan Highlights
Oscar's - Conrad Centennial Singapore

The spread at Oscar's on a weekday evening is not as extensive as her competitors in the area but the dishes that were featured were really well-executed. In fact, if you do make a reservation using a secret code word, you will be able to enjoy the buffet lunch and dinner at 23% off - click HERE to find out the promo code to get this buffet at just S$45++ and S$55++ for lunch and dinner respectively. Keeping the affordability of this buffet in mind, the Local Delights and Peranakan Highlights at Oscar's is really quite a good one. Besides, how can you say no to a bowl of delicious Nonya Chap Chye?

Ayam Buah Keluak - Local Delights and Peranakan Highlights

The Ayam Buah Keluak is also something to watch out for if you know your Peranakan food well. As some of you might already know, the plant of the Buah Keluak is poisonous in nature but the seeds of this plant are detoxified and they offer this dish a nutty flavour - some people even call this the truffle of Asia!

Kueh Pie Tee - Local Delights and Peranakan Highlights
Oscar's - Conrad Centennial Singapore

You will also be able to enjoy unlimited servings of a Peranakan favourite - the Kueh Pie Tee. The Pie Tee shells here at Oscar's are slightly harder than the usual ones and as a result, they do hold up the turnip and carrot mixture a lot better. Feel free to add prawns and chili to top off this classic dish.

More importantly, be sure to savour the special Dry Laksa Pasta with Spicy Coconut Espuma Foam that is created by one of Singapore's most famous food blogger, Miss Tam Chiak. Inspired by the famous Laksa in Singapore, Miss Tam Chiak has given a modern twist to one of the locals' favourite dishes with angel hair pasta and a delicious coconut espuma.

Fresh Seafood - Local Delights and Peranakan Highlights
Oscar's - Conrad Centennial Singapore

A selection of fresh seafood is also available during dinner - expect to find freshly shucked oysters (you literally have to tell them to shuck it in front of you), slipper lobsters, scallops, fresh prawns and a small selection of sashimi on the side. Seriously, where else are you going to get a buffet spread so decent that comes with a selection of fresh seafood for S$55++ during dinner?
