Chope Restricts KrisFlyer Miles Redemption with Chope-Dollars to Just Once a Month

You may not get the most value out of your Chope-Dollars (C$) when you redeem them for KrisFlyer (KF) Miles but having that option is great when you are a couple of thousand miles away from your dream redemption. Obviously, the best way to use your Chope-Dollars is to redeem them first for a S$30 Chope Deals Voucher before shopping for an actual deals. It appears that Chope has now limited the redemption of KrisFlyer Miles to just once a month (you used to be able to redeem up to 6,000 KrisFlyer Miles with each transaction).

It will require 1,200 Chope-Dollars to get 1,000 KrisFlyer Miles and it is certainly worth noting that exchanging your C$ for Chope Deals Vouchers make a lot more sense since it gives you more bang for your buck - check out my guide to redeeming Chope-Dollars to find out how to stretch its value.

Now depending on your membership tier (which is determined based on the number of reservations you fulfil in a calendar year), you may earn anywhere between 100 C$ to 175 C$ per fulfilled reservation. This means that as a regular member, you will be required to fulfil 12 reservations (without any additional promo codes) before you are able to earn enough C$ for 1,000 KF Miles. On the other hand, Platinum members are only required to fulfil 7 reservations to earn enough for 1,000 KF Miles (with some C$ to spare).

According to the new terms and conditions, members will only be able to redeem their C$ for KF Miles once a month (it does not specifically say whether it is capped per calendar month but I would assume so). Additionally, you might remember that with the new loyalty program changes that have been implemented late last year. Chope-Dollars actually do expire now so you may be forced to redeem them for KrisFlyer Miles if you are sitting on a trove of C$. If you have been putting off redemption for a while, it is now a good time to have a look into your Chope-Dollar balance and start planning to use them before they expire at the end of the year.
