Requesting a Larger Car for Emirates Chauffeur-Drive Service (First and Business Class) - How to Do It?
First Class and Business Class passengers traveling on Emirates enjoy complimentary chauffeur-drive service in over 75 cities worldwide - they will be driven to and from the airport in a private limousine and this is a fantastic benefit that I personally value a lot. When traveling with friends and family however, it sometimes feel a little strange to take separate vehicles to get to the same destination so I have decided to reach out to Emirates to find out whether a larger car can be arranged for situations like that.

Just last week, I wrote about how Emirates will be reducing the complimentary distance covered by the chauffeur-drive service - while this is a negative change, it should not affect most passengers since 50 miles is still a lot of distance to cover. As I will be traveling to the US soon and will require a pick-up outside of the complimentary radius, I was interested to find out whether they can send a larger SUV instead of a regular sedan so I can save on additional fees. As there will be three of us traveling together, sending three different sedans would mean having to pay the excess fees three times.
After speaking to a customer support representative from Emirates (via the online Chat feature), I have successfully managed to get them to send an SUV (or van) instead of a regular sedan for all three of us. The additional amount that we will have to pay (USD 3.50 for each mile excess) will therefore be limited to just one vehicle and it will also be a more comfortable journey as we would like to be traveling together (and it will take over an hour so having some company would be nice). If you are, or will be facing a similar situation, it may be a good idea to talk to someone via the Chat feature on Emirates' website - I have found this to be a lot more useful than contacting Emirates Support on Twitter which is terrible.
Business Class passengers now enjoy complimentary inflight Wi-Fi when traveling on Cathay Pacific.
