The Marriott Bonvoy Unlock More global promotion ended just two weeks ago and there is no definite news of any upcoming global offers that will be running for now. While I do have a targeted offer (finally!) on my account now, I can't help but wonder about the next global promotion (since that will partly determine which hotel chain I choose to stay within the months ahead).

When Marriott Bonvoy officially unveiled on 13 February 2019, the first global promotion (one that is open to all members) ran from 19 March 2019 to 04 June 2019. There were a total of three different global promotions that ran in 2019 and all of them lasted for approximately 11 weeks (which seems to be the default duration that these offers run for). All global promotions that Marriott Bonvoy ran in 2019 also started on a Tuesday (perhaps a coincidence, but probably not):

Double Take (19 March 2019 to 04 June 2019) - double points from the second stay
Endless Earning (02 July 2019 to 16 September 2019) - 1,500 bonus points per stay (2-night minimum)
Unlock More (29 October 2019 to 14 January 2020) - stay twice, get 2,000 bonus points and unlock a special offer

In my opinion, the global promotions that Marriott Bonvoy ran last year got worse with each iteration - the final Unlock More offer that I have unlocked was especially terrible for me since it required me to do four more stays just to earn 2,000 additional bonus points (way to go Marriott Bonvoy!). Fortunately, the targeted offer that I have gotten late last year (which was also my first ever targeted offer under the new program) made up for it somewhat.

There were 28 days between the end of the first and the start of the second global promotion last year. Following the same gap, we should expect to see a promotion go live on 11 February 2020. While there is no telling when Marriott Bonvoy will run the next global promotion, I personally think that we should be seeing something by the end of February 2020. I also think it is highly likely that the promotion will run for 11 weeks so you might want to keep your eye out for that (and be sure to check your account for targeted offers too!).
