It's Official - Marriott Rewards will become Marriott Bonvoy from 13 February 2019
While the merger of three loyalty programs (Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and SPG) has not been exceedingly successful (at least in the eyes of an average consumer), the combined loyalty program will relaunch on 13 February 2019 with a brand new program name - Marriott Bonvoy. Platinum membership tiers will also be renamed to make the distinction a little more obvious.

From 13 February 2019, Platinum Premier Elite and Platinum Premier Elite with an Ambassador will be known as Titanium and (simply) Ambassador respectively. The benefits of the different membership tiers remain unchanged (at least for now) but the new logo and branding will begin rolling out one day before Valentine's Day. Honestly, this will probably be a cosmetic change but there is definitely hope for the launch of a new brand name to really unify all the different systems and finally get everything sorted out.
