Staycations Still Not Allowed in Phase One of Singapore's Reopening - from 02 June 2020
The Singapore economy is expected to reopen in three phases with the first phase scheduled for 02 June 2020. Following 8 weeks of circuit breaker measures (from 07 April 2020 to 01 June 2020), more businesses as well as activities will be allowed to resume as the economy inches towards a new normal. Hotel staycations are disallowed during the Circuit Breaker period and this is expected to continue in Phase One of the reopening as many hotels are still being utilised to support the accommodation needs of people affected by travel restrictions as well as healthcare workers.

Phase One is expected to last for a minimum of four weeks before moving into Phase Two (which will see more measures being lifted) but this is subjected to change based on the rate of infection as well as the assessment of risk. Unfortunately, local residents of Singapore will not be able to go for staycations during Phase One (unless you have a legit reason to stay in a hotel) but on the bright side, most hotel loyalty programs have already extended their elite members' statuses by a year.
While no unauthorised stays are allowed in hotels during the Phase One period, the general public can still support most of their favourite hotels by getting takeaways from the F&B outlets located within them. This is obviously a very difficult time for everyone (and some businesses are really struggling to stay afloat) and hotels have been rolling out some fantastic deals that you should take advantage of - I am sharing a lot of them on my Instagram page so do keep a lookout for those.
Planning a beach day can seem simple, but unexpected issues often arise. Mornington Peninsula’s beaches are popular, which means dealing with potential crowds, fluctuating weather, and poor preparation can easily ruin your outing. Arriving late might lead to parking challenges, and picking the wrong beach can limit your planned activities. Many forget important items that could make or break their beach experience, leading to stress and missed opportunities for relaxation.
